The Swan Hotel is on the main through road in Whalley and opposite The Dog Inn. The night we stayed, The Dog Inn were having a very lively karaoke night. Our room vibrated!!! The noise didn’t ease until well after midnight. For us the breakfast choice was very limited. Our room wasn’t ‘made up’ after the first night even though we used the door hanging sign request.

Our room was very clean, spacious and the bed incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was spacious too and had a separate bath and shower.

The room was spacious and comfy. The rooms had a separate entrance, which was good because the pub was packed.

I had booked primarily on location and was pleased to find the accomodation to a high standard. The staff and the facilities were excellent; the rooms are over a pub so a little noise is expected on an evening. My only teeny tiny gripe would be that there was no milk in my room for coffee in the morning (that said I'm sure if I had asked for it, it would have been provided with a great smile!)

The small bathroom bin still had previous guests rubbish in. but apart from this no other issues. and clean other areas of the room and a good service with tea/coffee in the room and clean in the main bedroom.

The staff are so lovely and made us feel like it was home from home. thank you. Really bubbly and helpful Sharon was so lovely, and her communication was spot on and she assisted with queries and was so kind to us on our morning of departure. thank you . Sharon and team

There were no cups nor drink glasses when we returned to our room just after midnight and no means to request any because no phone in the room. The bedroom was right at the front and the road outside was busy with revellers until around 1:00am The lovely extensive cooked breakfast served on a cold plate, no porridge and the cereals were limited to three varieties only.

The breakfast was massive, well cooked and delicious. I like the fact the hotel was sufficiently flexible to allow us back late at night. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped with towels.

My only comment here is about communication. We had to ask our taxi driver how to get back into the hotel when we returned late - it wasn't clear if we should be using the front door or one of the rear doors. Not a huge issue (it didn't take long to work out) but it would have been useful to know rather than having to see which doors actually had a keyhole to try. When we did find the right door, it did have a "residents' entrance" sign, but this wasn't visible in the dark.

Very well kept and spacious room and bathroom. Spotlessly clean and uncluttered, and a big, comfortable bed. Surprisingly big bathroom as well.

Address on website shows Clitheroe when it is actually Whalley. It worked out well for us but misleading and could be a problem for someone else

We phoned the hotel to confirm our stay and say that we may be late as we were attending a wedding nearby but the hotel has changed its phone number and it hasn’t been changed on the website etc. it is also no longer part of the Vixen Group who we kept being put through to.

Once we got to The Swan, it was easy to check in and the room was exceptionally large and very comfortable. Breakfast was good, a small selection of cereals, 3 juices to choose from, fresh fruit and a cooked breakfast, coffee/tea was made specifically for you. Good service from the staff. Our room was directly over the bar so it was quite noisy until it was closing time (would expect this anyway but thought I’d mention it) but once the doors closed it was really quiet considering it’s on a pretty main road through Whalley.

Taxi's are expensive if you need to go into Clitheroe.

Sharon and the staff were so friendly and helpful, despite the bar being very busy they made sure we were able to eat. The food was exceptional, especially Breakfast! Definitely recommend staying here.

Unfortunately, I stayed over at a weekend. And I would NOT recommend, unless you plan on going to bed after 1am or you want to listen to the awful karaoke and music of everyone downstairs. I stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night, I had to be up for 7am most mornings. I often didn't sleep till midnight. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be staying there again if it's a weekend trip.

The staff were lovely, the room was also fantastic I have no issues there

We would have liked more choices for breakfast…. got tired of full English every morning. Wish we hadn’t included with our room.

Loved how close we were to the Abbey. Staff were friendly and helpful.
