Location is remote on a Monday there is nothing once you have signed in. No-one appears on site in the evening. Room was very warm and no air conditioning

The room was very compact, with no space to hang clothes or a desk or table on which to work or put a laptop. Tiny bathroom with a good shower and careful use of very limited space. The food was OK but not exceptional. Very sweet sausage and mash and more cream than egg in the breakfast scrambled eggs. WiFi does not work downstairs and is patchy in the rooms. There is no connection between the rooms and getting to the bar and restaurant, so you have to walk outside (through the rain) to get breakfast. The staff were kind and allowed me to use an illicit short-cut, but it isn't ideal.

Lovely location by the river with a pleasant walk past the church into the village. Clean room looking out over the river. The rooms are very modern with excellent showers and comfortable beds. Easy parking right outside. Pleasant food (superb chips). Very friendly staff.

The bed was in need of a new mattress. It was bowing and soft. Turning it improved things very slightly but it was clear it was past it's best and very uncomfortable. Not what you expect at this price point! Having more comfortable seating in the pub after dinner instead of high stools would be better. There was nowhere to sit comfortably after dinner as the front seating was packed and the back seating uncomfortable.

The room and views were lovely and dinner was great. The service was excellent too.

The property description said that all ten rooms have a riverside view. They don't. Ours looked out of the rear of the property at a dilapidated house. We were disappointed, as we had booked this place on the basis that it would provide a nice room to chill out in with our two year old daughter after a long journey and a busy day. When I raised this as an issue, they said it would say on my booking confirmation - and on the family room entry specifically - that that room has no riverside view. This is just not true. The property did offer to move us to the only other free room, but with the caveat that it would not fit a travel cot for our daughter. A view of the river from this other room was technically possible, if you leant out the window. I would describe it more as a view of the car park. The family room we were in also has the duct from the kitchen running through it, from which you can hear a ventilation rumble until the kitchen closes in the evening, and from when it opens again in the morning for breakfast. It was also incredibly hot - and for a family room, it also has a window that opens very low down without a restrictor in place. We were very disappointed by all this, having had a long hot day after a long drive and looking forward to a relaxing room to chill out in. The room description also mentioned chocolates for guests, which were not present. Coffee provided was only decaf, and tea was only cafeinated. It felt like the room had not been restocked. We checked out on a Sunday morning, and the only staff on was a very junior member of staff who did not seem to have much authority when it came to discussing or dealing with the issues we raised. I think this property needs to be more accurate in the descriptions it uses for the overall property and the rooms.

Dinner was good. Staff were generally friendly. Beds were generally comfortable.

May sound petty but the cobwebs & spiders in the main restaurant which clearly hadn’t been ‘gotten rid of’ in some time. The food was mediocre, not awful, but the beef burger my partner had was very dry & tasteless & breakfast wasn’t much better. Finally the garden area could do with tidying up & maybe some flowers in place of weeds…such a shame as in a beautiful location next to the river. Just needs a bit ‘more’ attention to detail.

The staff were so lovely, helpful & friendly, I couldn’t fault Molly or the young lad on the Sunday morning called josh. The bed was very comfortable & decor in the whole place was lovely & fresh. The room had everything you need & was very good value for money. Far nicer than any premier inn or travelodge, they had character & everything had been thought of to the final details.

Hard to think of anything to improve.

Our room was fabulous, it overlooked the river, nice big comfy bed, great shower, plus an area for hanging clothes and a dressing table with hairdryer socket and big mirror next to a window, perfect for doing hair and makeup. I can recommend the food in the restaurant too, a good range of dishes to choose from and perfectly cooked.

I felt £180 was a complete con, the hotel was nice enough but certainly not worth that amount.
