If I hadn't been very tired after walking more than 16 miles, the noise from the bar below would have kept me awake. The staff were mostly very friendly, except for one who was somewhat brusque.

Well-located. Room and bathroom were quaint, with beams and old wooden floors, yet very well equipped. Loads of character.

Unfortunately the boiler had broken down, but I was given an electric fire that they said I could keep on until the room heated up, which was a good gesture, under the circumstances.

excellent breakfast in an old mediavel pub which backed on to the castle and was close to the river and riverside restaurants. Great self contained room with lots of facilities, including a microwave, crockery, fridge and plenty of space to store my bike.

My room was meant to have a double bed but had two singles. Was not a big deal though. Would also like to have box of tissues in the room but again, no big deal.

The room in the new section was lovely. Nice new bathroom with a good shower. Breakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly. Pub was nice. Lovely location with parking next door.

No channels available on the tv. Nespresso machine took some time to fathom out, having never used one before. Had to wait 40 mins for my cooked breakfast, nearly had to leave without it as I had to catch a train.

Bed very comfy, room clean and fresh looking. Staff very friendly. Biscuits and bara brith a nice extra in the room.

Did not really not like anything about the place, very quirky and old fashioned which we both enjoy. We missed a trick with the breakfast as I had to work, but it did look fantastic and I believe is already included in the price.

Found the place, ncp right next door ! Bonuscas pouring with rain ! Pub was full bing a Friday afternoon. Booking in stress free and taken to room. Proper older wordle with separate full bathroom proper old school. All centuries old wood and stone panelling, really quirky which we both love. View of Chepstow Castle from garden. Definitely worth a stay as Chepstow Town lots if bespoke shops etc and Racecourse 10 mins by vehicle.

Quirky greatcroom with a partial self catering feel but a small fridge and cutlery would be great but the room was warm comfortable and the music on Sunday was a great evening but if you don't like music don't go on a Saturday or a Sunday
