Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaThe flat is very well equipped for a family, it has everything you need. Some very well thought out extras for a family travelling. It’s very close to the Underground and there are a number of shops close by to buy supplies. A very comfortable stay.

United KingdomThe toilet made a horrendous noise on flushing, that lasted for several minutes each time. The view from the windows wasn't great. No carpet on the floor, the feet felt cold. It was a hectic process getting the key from one shop and then the garage remote from inside the flat, had difficulty parking during that time. The price was way too high for the 3 nights. Some improvements needed, otherwise had a very good stay.
Good facilities. Close to Imparando. Had most basic necessities. The host was very kind and receptive. Allowed me to park for an extra 2 hours, thank you. Had good heating. The utensils were very nice.

United KingdomI would suggest perhaps blinds in the living room as the sun was blinding when we were there. But there was nothing that we didn't like. We had an awesome time!
Excellent communication with the host at all times. Very clear instructions on directions and accessing the apartment. Two bedrooms to give the teens and the adults privacy for a fraction of the cost of other properties. Spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was provided. Mini supermarket for supplies right across the road. A selection of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Transport into London for sightseeing was easy. The bus stop is literally outside the building and the tube station a 5 minute walk.

United StatesI had to walk to a convenience store, a good 5-minute walk to grab the keys when there was a reception desk in the lobby of the apartment complex. Mouse traps in the hallway leading to the room. Once in the apartment, I found the bedspread had stains on them. The shower head was moldy, and the wall had black mold. The door to the bathroom squeaked so bad that I had to spray it with w-d 40, and of course, the toilet handle stuck, so I ran all night. Disgusting... but hey, don't believe me? Check out the photos. Oh, and bring a battery for the clock; think as much as they charged, they could afford to at least have the clock over the dining room table running, ha!

PortugalAttention to this owner. Pay close attention to the deposits. I wouldn’t book this room again for sure again. Problems arise at check in. The owner is completely uncompromising and complicated. “My way or no way”. Pay close attention as you may be very dissatisfied. Let me explain: After paying the room rate (non-refundable), a very large deposit is required, practically the value of the room, 460 euros (around 400 pounds). The problem is that this deposit is not made like in hotels and other apartments I have stayed in to date where the credit card is “temporary hold” during the stay and then released. This gentleman does want the money in his account or for us to pay credit card fees. And the problem is that he has no one to check in (I tried to pay the deposit at check in in cash without success). In addition, check-in takes place in another building approximately 400 meters away in a convenience store (to have less costs with employees ). Absurd. This owner doesn't care about customers. We have to check in wherever he wants, pay in the currency he wants, pay the fees he wants. All for is convenience. He doesn't care anything about the client. Maybe that's why the apartment is cheap, otherwise no one would accept it. I just didn't cancel the room when they demand the deposit because the amount was non-refundable and had already been paid. He has to fix this situation and not demand such an exaggerated deposit and he can easily have a European account and allow European clients not to pay money for fees and rates. Or “hold” the credit card at no cost to the customer, as all competitors do. This Prehistoric measurements look impressive. Totally not recommended. This owner undoubtedly needs education regarding customer service.
The apartment is pleasant, clean, well equipped, the price is acceptable and the owner, despite being uncompromising, responds quickly until there are problems. When there are problems he is very rude.

RomaniaA little bit far from the city highlights, especially when you not used to travel a lot in your home town.
Cosy flat. Coffeeshop around the corner. Restaurants (chinese, indian, local) and grocery stores at a 200 meters distance. 5-10 min walk to various bus and metro stations.
