Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIn my single room; there was a hole punched in the bathroom door, no soap supplied in bathroom, toilet seat came off, no hook to hang your jacket and nowhere to hang clothes, I cleaned loads of cobwebs from ceiling above the bed, lampshade was split and there were dirty marks on the bed linen.
This GH is very central, great location. Continental breakfast, provided, was really good. Lots to choose from, well laid out, very fresh. Comfortable bed and warm room.

United KingdomUnfortunately there was no disabled access and my husband really struggled with all the stairs. Both recommendations made by reception staff proved to be rubbish. We asked if we could order in Chinese from the restaurant downstairs only to find out they were closed, so we asked for a fish and chip shop within easy walking distance for my husband, This also turned out to be closed when we got there! We eventually found a small kebab shop and least got a meal! Back to our room, no TV working, very tired-looking decor, very shabby, bed not comfortable and unable to use the shower because the door was off it's runners - probably just as well because it was not at all clean, so still wouldn't have used anyway!!!
Not much really. For what was once a lovely building , I afraid the 'old girl' needs a lot of tlc. The staff were lovely and very helpful, but they could only work within their means. Breakfast was continental very fresh and plenty of it, but would really have preferred a good cooked breakfast. When we had problems with TV, the staff went out of their way to solve them.

United KingdomAlthough not the fault of the hotel the seagulls and pigeons were a right pain with the seagulls especially squawking all through the night. Again, not the fault of the hotel but the breakfast choice was limited, I was leaving before the normal time for the breakfast to start so it's not really a fair representation of what's on offer
The hotel was just a stones throw away from the station.

United KingdomThe room I was given overlooked the Main Street and was opposite a busy pub and with just single glazing windows the noise was very loud until the pub shut at 2am And it need to put that there is no available parking at the hotel as I was assured it would be ok to park across from the hotel in the loading bays as long as I was away before 8am But I left at 7.30 am and had a parking ticket that had been put on my car at 20.15 I only arrived at the hotel at 19.45 when I approached hotel about it they just said that’s unlucky needless to say it’s a shame but I won’t be using this place again
It had a Chinese restaurant inside

United KingdomSmell on entry, stale breakfast items, Getting hot water for tea in the morning was impossible the jug labelled hot water didn’t even have holing water the water pots for boiling didn’t seem to work, the comforter / duvet was not comfy the bed was itchy, the shower changed from freezing to boiling if you move dial even slightly the sink hot water gets to scalding in a second so you have to wash your hands with the freezing tap. Toiletries kept getting stolen it seems there was toothpaste one day gone the next shower gel one day gone the next. The outside lights don’t turn off so in the middle of the night to pee I had to fully wake up again. They say unlimited breakfast but the pancakes waffles etc have been opened and left to get stale and covered in a plastic sheet would be better to let guests open them

United KingdomThere was an empty suitcase in my bedroom wardrobe, which also had no handle. There was a very strong smell of bleach in the bathrooms (at all times) yet they didn't seem overly clean. The mug in my room had a small curly hair at the bottom...
The staff member at reception when I arrived was very friendly. The room served the purpose of a one night stay in Inverness. The location pretty much couldn't be better for any further travel. The guest book in each room is very clear and informative.

CanadaThe walls were thin, so there was noise from neighboring rooms as well as some from a nearby bar. The seagulls and pigeons outside the window made even more noise though. Our bathroom lacked a door knob and toilet paper holder. The floor tiles hadn't been grouted. It seemed like they gave up partway through a reno. Overall atmosphere was shabby.
We chose this hotel for the location, convenient to the train station and to the pick up location for our tour company. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot. There were gluten-free and dairy-free options available at the breakfast if requested.

IrelandThe breakfast was really not good, there was only breads, no meat or cheese or anything other than carbs. My room was dirty, there was a condom in the bin, I didn't have towels, and the cleaning was lacking. The reception was also difficult to reach at times, but I have to say the gentleman working there was really lovely and I appreciated his conversation. I would not stay here for more than 1 night, you get what you pay for and nothing more.
Since I only stayed for one night in Inverness, it did the job -- the bed was comfy to sleep in, there was hot water, and it was very well located, which is all I required. There were lots of restaurants and cute shops around, which really gave you the feel of Inverness. Around the corner from the bus stop as well, which was useful.
