The Wellington Heifer surpassed expectations. Lovely staff, lovely room, lovely food. Nothing was too much trouble. Also catered for my gluten free diet with no problem.

Top step of stairs had frayed carpet. The owner is meticulous so I d say by now will have been stitched so I m penny pinching

Owner was hands on took time for everybody not just us and menu was different . The beds were sleep friendly and shower up market. We could not fault and would return in a flash if ever in the area

Pretty much everything was great, from the welcoming start to the last goodbye. Food, drinks & service were top class. Surprisingly popular spot considering its location between Northallerton and Bedale. Or perhaps because of it. Charming church opposite & lots of birdsong in May.

    All good. Defo go back.

Lovely little pub, very cosy with plenty of parking to the rear. There was a special steak night when we arrived and Tim Taylors Landlord on tap so was could go wrong. Staff were super good. Not intrusive but attentive. Food was great. I had expected some toad noise from outside but there was none.

Earlier check in than 5.30pm (we did know this prior to booking) and going on visits to other 'pubs' access to the pub during the day. Totally understand why it closes 2-5.30pm as it wasn't busy but we didn't realise this prior to booking.

The friendly welcome from Jon. The room was lovely with a comfy bed. Bathroom fairly spacious - up in the roof so slanted ceiling. Power shower was fab. Excellent food and fair selection of drinks.

Room was described as deluxe with beautiful views. Only view was the top of an aerial from a skylight window. The hotel did give us some free drinks and something off the bill, so can't complain. Could do with electric socket near mirror. ( partners only moan)

Good breakfast and good evening meals. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Room was comfortable but not what I was expecting. Ideal location for visiting North Yorkshire and North East. Near to Northallerton railway station.

On the side of the bed most used (nearest to the door) the mattress is beginning to slope downwards. You need to rotate it and turn it to level it out again, otherwise there is a feeling of 'falling out of bed' all night. I moved into the middle but if there were two of us that would not be an option!

Friendly, cosy, clean. In period with the area. Good service, good food.
