Unfortunately there were a couple of things that we did not like. The shower took a long time to heat up each time we needed to used it. It was not the easiest to use and took a while to figure out. The radiator in the room was red hot all night. We turned it down to zero but it stayed on its highest temperature. By the time we realised we could not turn it off, it was the middle of the night and did not want to go to reception at that time. We would have liked the option to have our breakfast included in the price. This was not offered and paying for breakfast had an impact on our experience. We were on the first floor and could hear the music from the bar until after 11pm. Which was disruptive.

Very spacious room, comfy beds, with a cosy atmosphere. The hotel was close to the centre of town and ideal placed for an overnight stay. Our welcome was also pleasant and made us feel safe and comfortable upon our arrival.

Comfortable room but a little tired. Stained carpet, broken curtain rail. Shower took 5 min to heat up. Signs of water leak.

Public areas are very nice. Lovely bar/restaurant area. Staff friendly and efficient. Free parking.

Unfortunately the lady who was serving on the bar made a bad first impression. Firstly I mentioned to the check in staff that I'd been to the hotel a few times before but had noticed it was under new management. Me and my friend made our way to the bar after a busy day at alton towers and leaving our town at 7am we fancied a cheeky cocktail, previously visiting there was a cocktail "the love island iced tea" it's the only place I know that sells it so had been looking forward to having one.. I asked said member of staff for the cocktail menu and noticed it was still on the menu!! Brilliant :D! Proceeded to order two of them to be told "NO ITS TUESDAY" asif to say drinking cocktails on a Tuesday is not acceptable?? She then didn't know how to make the cocktail after telling us she forced the new management to keep it on the menu as its her favourite? I found that quite strange not being able to make your favourite drink.. was just strange service overall to be honest.. I will be honest I do struggle with things like this as I am a manager of a restaurant/pub.. but if somebody was in my pub ordering drinks priced at £10 each I'd be more then happy to make them and would he disappointed in my team if they blatantly moaned about making a drink infront of a customer.. when I questioned not knowing the ingredients but being her favourite drink I got the response of "I said I like drinking them not making them" in a rude tone of voice.. not very hospitable. We would've stayed at the hotel bar/restaurant but decided to go elsewhere the night porter was lovely!! Very polite young man

The room was good. Stayed in room 4 which was quite small. Very nice bathroom, nice powerful shower. Good cocktail selection.

car park is tight on space. room was nice and clean, however my lamp in the room did not work, the kettle was not great, it didn't click off after boiling point and the the bin in the bathroom was broke. it was only minor details that let it down but for the price I thought we wouldn't have minor details.

Building and hotel decor was lovely, bar area was really nice, Breakfast was really nice. Rooms are spacious and bed is really comfortable, the room has what you need, dressing table area, hangers. good selection of tea and coffee and biscuits. I would stay here again and i would recommend, staff were really friendly and it is in a great location within the town.

Could not turn the heating off in the room.

I stay here whenever in the region for work. Rooms are excellent although this time my room (room 1) the heating could not be turned off. this meant i had to leave the windows open which meant all the road noise kept waking me. Dinner, Chicken kebab, was fantastic and highly recommended. Staff are very professional and helpful. Really good value for money and recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

It would have been better to have the breakfast in the hotel but a member of staff gave directions to a great cafe, short walk. We were fortunate as it was open but if we had stayed overnight on the Saturday we would have found the cafe closed Sunday morning. The hotel could have pre advised before travel.

The mix up with the keys. First key didn’t open the room which involved lots of stairs to reach and there was somebody else in there! So had to walk all the way back to reception to report and be given the key to another room. That said the team did sort it quickly

Room doesn’t have heating control and got so hot in the night I ended up sweating. Was fixed on the sec night when I brought it up. Breakfast was just too little and not at all worth the money charged. Complete unavailability of staff in early morning and later in the evening was problematic. Water in the bathroom took 5-7 mins of running water to change the temperature from cold to hot which was quite odd for a hotel.
