No breakfast on offer before 9-30am Sunday morning. I checked out at 8-30 with only the cleaners around. Also, I had to place pillows at the foot of the bedroom door. As it was letting in light from a poor fitted door.

I'm sure it was written in small print but the pub is closed Mon/Tues so no option for food or drink - dinner or breakfast. I did not see a soul the whole time I was there

No pillow cases on 2 of the pillows, one with a huge stain on it. As there's no staff on-site on Monday & Tuesday's there was nobody to sort this out

Arriving to a unheated room, and then a lack of urgency to get heating issue resolved. We had to stay in bar for 45 minutes. Flat screen ok but remote control did not work was given different remote but that didn't work in this case because no batteries fitted. Water was cold at 8.30 am had to boil kettle to wash, fortunately we had showered at night and water temp was good then, so just as well. The lighting was inadequate. impossible to use for make up or shaving, one bedside lamp broken.

The room is fine / good, but the pub is amazing - that's what I came back for, great food, great staff, great beer. However, it is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. I booked this stay months in advance and they waited until my free cancellation ran out, 2 days prior to my stay, to inform me of this. That seems underhanded to me.

It was very frustrating to arrive at 8.30pm and be told that the kitchen was closed for dinner having had a long drive anticipating a warm welcome and good meal. Email communication about serving times would have been helpful. Breakfast was also not an option as it was served from 9am which was too late for me.

The room was large and comfortable. Nice big bed and quite location.

The rooms are comfortable, if a little small. It was very clean and the staff friendly. There is no breakfast available, which is a shame.

Again the noise from the air con unit was unacceptable. it is bolted to the bedroom wall so makes the room vibrate. it does not seem bad during the day but when there is no other noise at night it is unbearable. When i have complained to the staff and 2 emails i have had no response. so to sum up very very upset with the hotel.

Popped down to Bar shortly after check in for a night cap. No staff present. No staff visible. Went back to room without having a drink. Noticeable cobwebs around curtain rail area. Quirky shower. Would have preferred a cooked breakfast as we were away on a leisure trip however appreciate that Chef would have been needed. On speaking to White Horse at time of booking, I stated that I would book this accommodation as breakfast was offered. At the time, it was not mentioned that breakfast would only be coffee and pastries.

Really mixed feelings on The White Horse. Checked in around 10pm. Member of staff was friendly and pleasant. Bed was comfortable. Good storage in room. Check out was efficient. Location suited us. Decor in public areas was of good standard and quality.

Vacuuming had been missed reported to staff they were extremely busy a very pleasant staff member came after the second request apologised and vacuumed. The sink was slow to empty there was a stain on the wall. The Roman blinds were broken on all windows so shut out jthe light and weather very hot so blinds shut out the skirting boards were dirty. Bed and bathroom very clean .

window seals grubby, struggled to get into the property with key and contact person to call wasn’t great. didn’t realise breakfast was an option and when asked about it couldn’t book it. no Wi-Fi

last order for dinner 8pm. no hot water in the morning so no shower we boiled kettle for water to wash. no breakfast even after our waitress at dinner the night before asked if we wanted breakfast and said she’d book us a table for 9am. We sat outside til 10am when a female employee eventually opened the door. She was totally disinterested in our experience couldn’t care less. This hotel is in a tiny village with absolutely nothing except this hotel/pub. Guests would need to drive to Hertford to find somewhere to eat. We knew breakfast wasn’t included in the price but not stayed in a hotel before that doesn’t offer breakfast. Could not find anyone to speak to regarding our experience. Sadly would not recommend an overnight stay.

nice room and comfortable bed situated in a small very pretty quiet village. Seems more pub lunch and dinner trade rather than hotel. communication very bad, no reception and no one answered the phone at the hotel or replied to the email I sent prior to arrival.

absolutely no hotel service. eg no welcome. eg we were locked out before 9pm on Sunday when whole building was without lights and door stuck so we were unsble to get in for quarter of an hour. Apparently no other occupants of the building eg. no response for seversl requests for sink plug.
