For the price I would have expected a bit better, but it's the only place in town, so if you need to

The room was extremely hot upon checking in -- radiators had been left on full even though it was a hot day. The guy who showed me to my room immediately turned the main room radiator off, but ten minutes later I found the bathroom radiator still on full blast, so I turned that off too. Had to fling the windows open to cool the room down a bit, but... there was no privacy from the punters in the beer garden outside unless you closed the windows and also the shutters, blocking out all daylight. The room was tiny - nowhere to sit apart from on the bed. The bathroom was tired, and decor was poor. When I checked out the next morning, an older Irish guy who I assume to be the proprietor was unwilling to accept that I'd already paid via booking.com. I showed him my receipt which luckily I'd printed and brought with me, and he photographed it and grudgingly let me leave -- he didn't bother to ask how my stay had been.

The bed was comfortable. The pub attached is characterful and (obviously) sells alcohol which is (obviously) a plus. Friendly staff upon check-in and throughout the evening in the pub. Breakfast was a good bonus, and was of a good quality, although I didn't realise it was included, so had already purchased and brought my own breakfast with me which turned out to be a waste of money. The hotel is in Duns Tew, which is ideal if you need to be in Duns Tew, as I did.
