Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly issue was the TV reception but we weren't too worried as I take our Fire TV stick with us so used that to fall sound asleep to.
A trip down memory lane which didn't disappoint. Wonderful hosts who made a great effort to ensure our stay was as good as could be. Comfortable, warm and quiet room with an excellent shower and comfy bed. A great breakfast, ate the second night in the White Horse and was pleasantly surprised by the choice and quality of our meals, with a great selection of beers and ciders to complement our meal. Local bus into Holmfirth stopped right outside the Inn and dropped off after a day of pilgrimage to the resting place of Last of the Summer Wine's great actors and an enjoyable day exploring the town, it's famous cafe's and exhibits relating to the famous show. Great car parking, some lovely walks and a waterfall to boot!

United KingdomThe bedroom needs a bit of a makeover. The shower wasn’t great, there was no power to it. The breakfast wasn’t great, the bacon was hard, seemed like it had been microwaved.
A lovely country Inn. Evening meal very nice. Friendly staff.

United KingdomThe access at night needs to be lit. The breakfast was full English (vegetarian option) with 1-piece of bread or something on toast. The sausage was tasteless, the bacon fatty and hard and the egg too runny. I didn’t touch it to be honest and I’m not fussy. The Danilo’s toilets are so noisy and the room was very cozy (small). Oh and the grid outside was so annoying - speak to the council.
Very traditional place, menu was nice with a good selection to choose from.

United KingdomThe room was very dated. The bathroom was very cold as the heated towel rail was not heating up the room. It was also tarnished and discoloured not very nice. The room should have secondary glazing if double glazing is not an option as wind and cold was blowing through making the room cold. Very noisy grid outside everytime a vehicle drove over it. Not enough tea and coffee or milk in the room. Just enough for 1 cup each. There were cobwebs on the light fitting. It's a real shame because the location is nice. The food is amazing. But the room needs serious upgrading to meet the price charged. I stay in lots of places throughout the year and this was a very poor standard of room for the price. I hope the owners can take this constructive criticism because it could be a place we would stay again. In its current state the room let our experience down. The food was amazing though .
The food was very nice. We had a meal in the bar. The breakfast was also very nice. A good choice for us both.

United KingdomRoom was tiny but that was fine for us. Tiny criticism - the lead from the kettle doesn't reach the plug socket so you have to put it on the floor to boil it
Nice little traditional and quirky pub a couple of miles outside of Holmfirth. Our room was very small and basic but it was warm and cosy with a comfy bed and perfectly fine for our overnight stay. Parking opposite was a nice bonus as you don't get that if staying in the centre of Holmfirth and have to park in one of the public car parks. A regular bus stops right outside and taxis are easy to get. We would definitely stay here again next time we're in the area (hopefully in the summer next time).

United KingdomThe room was adequate but the layout could be better. Electrical sockets all on one side of the room. Also the pressure of the shower was not great. And the room was a little dusty.

United KingdomThe room had a very strange layout with a toilet at one end of the room and the basin to wash your hands at the other. Shower was very small and if you are a little on the large size no room really to manoeuvre. It is a very old building so may be limited in what they can do. Having said that we have stayed in many old hotels, pubs, cottages and they offered great facilities and rooms.
The staff and food were very good and big portions. Good location and can leave the car behind as there is a bus stop into Holmfirth outside the pub. Comfy bed. Lovely hot water.
