How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The location to Salisbury was fantastic. We could park the car and walk. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Room was very comfortable and quiet

Room facing road. Noise not a worry. Breakfast very good and freshly cooked. Parking was a short walk away (book in advance as it is limited). Two flights of stairs but we expected that.

The power went off overnight so we couldn’t use the fan and it was really hot.
Location was good, value for money. Lovely staff. Great breakfast with helpful and friendly staff again.

The only criticism is that the temperature upstairs (the hotel area) was a little warm for our liking. It is also worth noting that there is no lift so not ideal for those with limited mobility.
From the minute we arrived the service was fabulous and the atmosphere was great, hotel combined with a lovely English pub. The check in was quick and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable, the food in the restaurant was great with good variety and very tasty (we had lunch, dinner and breakfast at the hotel) and the added bonus was the variety of gin at the bar (yes we did try a number of them). Big shout out to the manager; she was so friendly and despite being busy took the time to chat with us and provide us with some great suggestions. Salisbury is a lovely town with some great things to see and do (so much history) and we would definitely stay at Qudos again if we came back.

Literally the only thing I can think is that it was a hot day and all the radiators in the hallways were on full!
We arrived late and left very early. The team were expecting us and were very welcoming. The room was lovely and very clean. Can't comment on food or the local area really as we were just passing through.

Directions to car park were not obvious as the parking sign had been stolen and had not been replaced yet
The staff were friendly and informative. The room and facilities within were excellent. The location was just a short walk from the City centre.

What a gem! So glad we found this excellent venue in such a great location. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the beds comfy and food was delicious . Would definitely recommend and will certainly be back.

No air con in the room. Just a desk fan

It would have been helpful to have handles to make it easier to haul oneself out of the bath.
The room was lovely: comfortable bed; excellent coffee machine. The breakfast was delicious. They very kindly allowed us to stay in our room for a while after check-out time.

The chair in our room needs to be replaced.
This was the second time we stayed at Qudos. Good rooms, nice personnel and good food. A great lunch and dinner menu. And fresh fruit for breakfast. A 5 minute walk to the centre of Salisbury. We had a lovely stay, again.

The staff were really accommodating when we arrived later than expected due to train issues. We ate dinner there the night we arrived, which was delicious! Rooms were comfortable, well-equipped and each came with their own iron and ironing board, which we didn't expect. Really good value for money.
