Room was exceptionally hot despite no heating being on

Food wasn't great, ran out of roasts very early then didn't have another main. The breakfast was burnt but plenty of of it.

The suite was excellent, technical shower but got there in the end. Bed was huge and comfortable and the room was lovely. Could do with a dust around the walls and ceilings to remove the webs and dust but that was a minor thing.

We had a room which was advertised as a room with a view of the old man of coniston and a private balcony . When we arrived soon realised the balcony was no longer there as they were building an extension on the ground floor below . Not a big problem just maybe need to change the description. Thanks for a great stay

Lovely little place . Few rooms upstairs. A pub /restaurant downstairs and also a deli attached. Parking good outside pub food was lovely at night and breakfast was the best ever.

Would have liked the bar area to have a more comfy sitting areas Unfortunately there was building work going on just outside our window, Maybe a separate eating area for guests who would prefer not to eat with dogs

Only slight negative is if things are quiet in the bar area then last orders are called based on this and not a particular time...we had last orders called at 9pm ?!?

The breakfast was superb with excellent choice and freshly made local produce. Also the decision to opt for the King Room with the view and especially the large copper bath was worth it as the bath in particular was great especially after a long walk.

Room was very warm and quite noisy being above the bar and at the front of the building. Tv was flat to the wall side on to the bed so unable to see from the bed . Difficult to get a table in the evening if we hadn’t booked. No information re walking routes from Torver , especially down to the lake.

The pod didn't have a wardrobe so had to live out of the suitcase

The location. Close to Coniston Water and a few minutes drive to Windermere. Bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately the weather was very bad so couldn't avail of the hot tub. Food at the Hotel was very very nice and reasonably priced.

It was a nice room, comfortable and well appointed. The only problem was there was a strange smell which I couldn’t identify.

Cockerel wakes you up every morning from 4am. It is right by the pod - not sure if it can be relocated as it didnt help with sleeping the hot tub took 5 hours to heat which meant you were in the dark. There is no lighting outside so felt very dark Kitchen facilities were limited Information booklet would be amazing

My own fault - I missed breakfast as it started at 8.30 and i needed to leave for work at 8.00 but i was able to help myself to cereal/yogurts/jam/juice & superb sourdough bread x

It was not the trip we planned as had been totally refurbished so very modern rather than expected from pictures on booking com Also no balcony as I had booked due to renervations.... they did kindly give us a meal on the house as complimentary gesture to apologize. All in all though it was fantastic food and very comfortable stay
