Our room was at the back of the hotel, partly above the kitchen. Opposite our room was a big ventilator causing a lot of noise during the night. New houses are constructed at the back of the hotel, but no nuisance form this at all. Parking at the back could sometimes a bit challenging.

Great hotel, very friendly staff. Dog friendly. Great breakfast and dinner. In less than 45 minutes away form the train tunnel. Old windmill, more than 400 years old, much character.

The food was very disappointing. Invited family to join us and although the barman was very accommodating on the gluten free The fish was like rubber . The lamb was sinewy and very chewy . Breakfast was no better .. burnt croissant and hard poached eggs. Not at all enjoyable.

Very old and quirky. Comfortable room and modern bathroom.

Gatehouse room can feel colder than other rooms as at end of property and a bit noisy as next to cold storage shed which hums all night. Maybe charge slightly less for this room than the other four rooms.

Very accommodating to change our room when we asked. Evening meal very good. Staff very helpful and friendly.

There was some building work taking place which did create some noise during our stay but we appreciate that this was only very short term.

The breakfast was excellent as was the meal we had on the Friday evening. Accommodation, staff, cleanliness and location was super. It would be helpful to have a mirror in the room when drying hair and a couple of hooks away from the clothes hanging area (no wardrobe) for coats particularly if you have wet weather.

My one point of criticism is the conversational noise from below the rooms after 23.00. I expected to hear it up till then but this continued to just before midnight! If this was the staff talking they should have a little more consideration for their guests trying to sleep.

Good location with nice rooms. Excellent breakfast!

The only downside would be the noise from “rush hour” traffic in the morning (though that’s simply because of the location of course and not the fault of the owners).

Nice, quaint house + pub. Excellent breakfast and the staff were lovely and very attentive. The huge fireplace in the pub/breakfast area downstairs is a superb bonus!

    Don't change a thing.

This is a charming heritage property with excellent accommodation and a great restaurant. The key to the success of this venue is its staff. They genuinely care for your experience and in this day and age that's extremely rare.
