The bed/mattress was too soft and was uneven on 1 side. Breakfast was undercooked, Tomato raw, Egg white still runny and bacon barely cooked.

There was a winter break deal with the company so missed out on the deal via booking.com. The hotel did give us a complimentary upgrade to a luxury king size with a view. However some guests had an evening meal included in their deal.

Lovely warm hotel. Furnishings were luxurious and comfortable. Nice fabrics and lovely log fire in reception. The location is ideal in Grasmere. Staff are very attentive and help make your stay seem special

Decor in rooms is a little tired, the carpets could do with being replaced. The breakfast was a fiasco. It took 45 mins from ordering to receive our food. When it arrived the portion size was small so overall disappointing

Comfortable room, helpful staff. My wife who is vegetarian did not fancy any of the options on the menu, so the chef made her something else, simple but very acceptable.

The staff were lovely, rooms traditional but comfortable. Location and pool area were great. Breakfast was fantastic.

Breakfast buffet poorly presented in dresser. Carpets on ground floor need replacing and dining chairs remain very uncomfortable. Got locked out of room overnight, but the hotel kindly refunded the accommodation cost for that night.

Excellent food and service, especially dinners. Log fire in hall. Friendly staff. Comfortable and well stocked lounge bar.

nothing we didnt like really but to be picky my only moan would be the Bar prices I'm sure they could be a little lower but I'm sure other hotels in the area are the same with no local pubs really....

enjoyed our whole stay, very good size rooms, plently of lovely areas/lounges to relax in very good food on offer staff at hand all the time.

We had a lovely autumn break -the hotel was clean and comfortable and there we so many places to walk to or visit nearby. Breakfast was good quality and we ate in the hotel both evenings and food and service was excellent

Nice quiet location within short easy walk to the village. Good restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the spa facilities are pretty good. The twin room was a decent size with a good bathroom. Plenty of parking if you get there early!

The food was little overpriced but was very nice and the employees were really helpful in accommodating my wife (who is in a wheelchair) and gluten free

Carpet in room required cleaning in area below windows. Bedside lampshade broken Waiting staff appeared to lack direction and/or understanding of what was ordered. The above point were made to the hotel on our departure.

Comfortable hotel with good facilities. Rooms looking over the village are excellent Dining room pleasant and menu wide ranging. Garden/grounds well kept and are an enjoyable relaxing space.
