We could not say enough about this place. It is absolutely beautiful. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, well stocked with all the utilities you might need and…talk about location! Wow!! Would go back here in a heartbeat and couldn’t recommend it enough. We came here for our 15 year wedding anniversary and were so happy that we did. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to spend it. Jaimie and Martin’s hospitality was incredible.

No large/tall mirror in bedroom area and no plug socket for hair dryer. More clothes hanging space - one short 5inch wooden pole might be enough for 1-2 day stop ... but for a week it's useless. We were not sure where the under floor heating was meant to be other than in the bathroom? We have an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) at home and the recommendation from our Heating Engineer is to NOT to use a Timer/Schedule to alter room temperatures as the ASHP takes at least 4hrs to heat a room ... Heating Engineer strongly recommends to set thermostats to 21c and if you need it higher or lower then the ASHP can cope with this.

The location was amazing .. zero light pollution; 20yards to the Beach (pebbles not sand, in case anyone is thinking of a spanish beach); fantastic and powerful shower, and my 5' 2" wife loved he the bath, but a tad small for me at 6' tall. There was easily two spaces for parking; Air Source Heat Pump; fast WiFi internet connection ( i think provided by StarLink on a pole between the two cottages). I liked the communications from Jamie on a daily basis - is everything ok?

Everything was perfect.

Very nice little welcome hamper. Stunning location and impeccable property with beautifully understated Christmas decorations. Also being pet friendly was a huge bonus - there's not many gorgeous properties like this that allow dogs. Overall a fabulous stay and would definitely book again.

The Wreck is fabulous, Jamie and her family have put huge thought into designing and furnishing the cottage. The inside is spacious and the bathroom is huge! Everything was excellent quality and where possible Scottish/local; right down to the books on the well-stocked bookshelf. A real bonus was that the fridge had some food goodies on arrival so I could make my own breakfast. The Northern Lights were on display while I stayed and Jamie kindly phoned to tell me so I could photograph them. It was lovely watching the ferries and boats on their way to/from Ullapool Harbour and otherwise quiet and peaceful with the waves lapping on the shore. The Wreck is a luxurious retreat or the ideal base for exploring the West Coast.

I couldn’t find the pen to write in the guest book which I really wanted to do to look back on when we next come up. Maybe the previous guest took it or maybe there never was one. A box of pens would be good but not essential haha!

To put it bluntly I liked everything. I last toured the NC500 in 2019 and I don’t believe this accommodation was here in that time. Covid and everything else this has been my first time back up the west coast. We were away on our honeymoon and we were booking day to day and winging it. I let the owner know and I asked if I could order a sunset for the night knowing fine well it was bucketing down. On arrival the owner had left us a card congratulating us with a picture of a sunset. This place is the best place I have ever stayed on the NC500 and I’ve been touring it since before it was famous. The location is stunning and the accommodation is just out of this world. From the bed to the heating and the power shower. We also stayed at the Harbour Lights waterside cabin which was more expensive but was cheaper in design and interior. We will be back at The Wreck And Ruin without a doubt and we will stay longer as it was absolutely perfect. It should definitely be more expensive than it is and if the owners decide to put the price up I would not hesitate to pay it. We are in our 30’s I would like to think we will be back plenty of times in the future. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special with your amazing place!

We stayed in the ruin and it did not disappoint it was so cosy and modern with everything you would need for the perfect relaxing break away. It was so peaceful and quiet with outstanding views looking over Loch broom, which happened to be the place where my partner proposed to me it was the most special moment in the most special of places we can’t wait to come back and stay again to share more amazing memories in this special little place.

The location is amazing. The apartment is amazing.Of all the places i have stayed in the world, this is up there with the best. The town of Ullapool was great, beautiful, and great fun. The little extras in the fridge just topped off the experience. Just book it.
