The mattress was too hard for me. Older people need something a bit softer - its the hips and arthritis ! Probably just fine for most people.

Location was perfect for my needs. Size and facilities were perfect and the accommodation was comfortable.

The location in Sherborne is perfect. It is right in the center of shops, restaurants and cultural attractions. The apartment is roomy, clean, quiet, and attractive. Our host, Paul, was easily available to answer any questions. We felt well cared for.

We contacted our host by his mobile telephone on Tuesday evening 21st February to ascertain the access code. He was about to attend a concert in Bournemouth (!) but took our query in his stride and provided the necessary information. We subsequently received the automated (?) information reference the access code by electronic means some considerable time after we had left home on Wednesday 22 Feb. Perhaps it might be possible to provide this information 24-48 hours in advance ? Although set in concrete by local diktat the parking arrangements are not easy for those with disability issues and free overnight parking in the street ends at 9.30am. Perhaps this should be mentioned in the notes for residents ?

The breakfast ingredients already provided on arrival were more than adequate and a very pleasant surprise. The accommodation was well designed. The main bedroom was a little cramped for this space conscious couple but perfectly adequate. The twin bedded bedroom provided a good facility for hanging clothes. The central heating was very efficient with a simple control system and the house was delightfully warm.

They left a delicious loaf of sourdough from a local baker, fantastic local milk & butter, and on top of that a fresh baked pound cake on the counter. The hospitality was excellent. The bathroom and bedrooms were immaculate. It has just the perfect size common room & kitchen for vacation. The location is the best you'll find in Sherborne period. I loved my stay and I hope that when I'm drawn back to the city that the Yardhouse is available then.

We couldn’t work out how to use the coffee machine, despite much experience with Nespresso machines in hotels. This one didn’t seem to pierce the pods so we gave up.

Great central location, short walk to the station and in the middle of lively Cheap Street shops. Quiet and sheltered spot, surprise outside space with outdoor facilities including a BBQ. Immaculate little cottage with everything you could want. All clean and comfortable, and we arrived to a lovely welcome with gorgeous local produce, including a great cake and delicious sourdough bread. These items were a real feel good bonus!
