Lovely big bathroom, but lack of curtains/blinds in front of a floor to ceiling window. Especially when the toilet is next to the window and shower opposite. Did have a net curtain but not really good enough.

Great food, had a superior room which was very comfortable and clean.

Lovely location, just away from the town. Comfortable, boutique feeling hotel. I had an evening meal and breakfast, both of which were very good. I will visit again.

We had a taxi order that didn’t collect us from our venue but when they rang the hotel nobody answered. I rang and I spoke to the kitchen who couldn’t really help with the taxi situation but I did get another taxi number. It just rang. OneAB taxi should not be used by the hotel they just left us stranded.

The revamped rooms will be a bonus. However , I think on a whole the evening meal menu should be revised and more choices for vegetarians.

The house keeping staff were very helpful and cheery. They kept the rooms clean. I was very happy with the room allocated but was advised that as new owners have taken over the hotel, the rooms are being revamped. There was a great choice at breakfast time that would cater for all tastes. The evening meal though was a bit of a hit or miss. You can’t go wrong with scampi, but three of our group had to send the burgers back as they hadn’t been cooked fully. Overall we had a nice time.

Room was not cleaned / checked for my second nights stay which wold of been nice and is the usual practice for most hotels I have stayed in.

Location & setting were lovely for the hotel. I booked room only as I had breakfast at the meeting I attended. I did not eat dinner at the hotel as I was meeting colleagues at a different location nearby.

We had booked the bridal suite for our wedding anniversary, to get there and be told it was no longer available because someone else had came in and booked it for 3 nights. Very disappointed and offered a breakfast (which I'd already booked anyway) I also requested wine in our bridal suite but we had been put in a different room, no wine. Was told I could have some if I went to the bar myself. Overall left disappointed as I had booked the bridal suite for a special occasion and we had travelled an hour to stay here.

The staff were lovely, especially the barman on the evening very welcoming.

The windows were hard to open and close, the room was also a little too warm all the time. The breakfast was expensive to say we couldn't really eat it all as it wasn't very nice. We were brought a pot of tea and it took at least 10 minutes to get any sugar.

The room was really nice, the bathroom was incredible. Loved the layout of the bedroom with the TV by the end of the bed.

No prior notification about ongoing building work or apology for inconvenience and noise Room only cleaned on demand and then not fully replenished with toiletries Breakfast missing the normal buffet for cereal, tea,coffer, juice etc Restaurant menu lacking vegetarian options. Food quality poor with one dish returned. Only used once during our stay Room keys failed to work on our return every night Item left in the room has been found but "policy" prevents posting it back even if i pay. 400 mile round trip to collect. Nonsense

The hotel was in the middle of serious building work. We were only made aware of this shortly before arrival so couldn't do anything else but stay there. We should have been made aware weeks before - it was booked the year before! Lovely hotel however.

Wish we knew that the Hotel didnt have Air Conditioning in the room. I am sure that 80% of the year it may not be required but on a slightly warm summer day the room was insufferable without it and unfortunately hotel doesn't provide fans to help provide sleep comfort. Maybe if the window could open more than about 8 inches if would have helped, but it didn't. Given the heat in the room we got very little sleep there. Wouldn't recommend staying there in the summer when there is a risk of weather above 20c

The room was due for an upgrade, but please look at the towel rail immediately as you walk out of the shower as it would be something you held onto if a little unsteady - ouch. to turn off the spot-light over the bed you had to get out of bed!! And the soap tray in the shower did not keep the soap - it fell though the slats!!

One of our party is gluten and dairy free. So we tend to self cater as just too problematic deciphering menus otherwise. Seemed a nice choice here for dinner and breakfast. Can I suggest take the lead from others and annotate menus to show gf and vegan options - that way may have been tempted.

Needed a room overnight for a local appointment. This hotel ticked all the boxes. spacious double room, nicely decorated and fitted out. Good parking. Really friendly and helpful staff.
