The bathroom …the shower was temperamental , with nowhere to stand your shampoo etc …a little shelf would be great, the toilet seat was broken . The bedroom pillows did not smell fresh , although the bed linen was fine .

The staff, the breakfast and the location

Nothing to comment on. If you get the right room this is a nice place to stay.

Good: This was my second stay here in the same week and this time I had a bright, comfortable, double room on the first floor with a large window overlooking the street. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable and the bathroom was fine. The only negative is that the light within the mirror over the basin was not working. The large lounge area on entering the reception is very comfortable, with good sofas and a large TV and bar. Breakfast is adequate and the breakfast room is bright and clean. There is a lockable bike shed.

We are used to a King Size bed so for me it was a little cramped. However, it was for one night only, and I knew it would be a double, so the onus was on me accept or not. It isn't a moan at all.

Our room was ready to occupy when we arrived, and someone was there to greet us, which considering we arrived late, we were grateful for. The room was comfortable, with a larger bathroom that had a good shower. All very important to us.

Shower is very weak, but it is an old Victorian building. Room furniture and furnishings could do with an update but completely acceptable.

Beautiful view from the top floor room. Very quiet and private. Bonus to have a car park too and a very large TV lounge downstairs. Lovely breakfast especially the poached eggs.

We missed bedside table on one side of the bed. There was a space for it, so it is a shame it was not there. We have been given room on top floor with a lot of steep steps. There is no lift, which we understand, it is a old mazelike building with a character. However, we would have appreciated offer of help with the suitcase as I was traveling with my son only which was clear not only from the booking. And we have struggled with the suitcase.

Nice, quite, comfortable and clean place with a breakfast made to order. Convenient position.

There was not much we didn’t like just a few things that we just wanted to point out. We found the staff although friendly just maybe a little stand offish and only spoke when we spoke with them. The man that served the breakfast always come across that he didn’t want to engage in any sort of chat other than taking your order which is fine but doesn’t make for the friendliest of atmospheres. He also got a couple of bits of our breakfast ordered wrong, we as a couple eat pretty much anything so no much of a problem for us but for others with intolerances could be.

The property was clean & comfortable and had plenty of onsite parking. Lots of information leaflets and documents around the property to get information on things to do. The hotel let us check in early which really helped make the most of our stay. Breakfast was well cooked.

Only the soft bed but as I said everyone has different preferences.

We got a free upgrade to the garden room so we had more space than we expected. Everything was clean and well looked after. Only downside was quite a soft bed but everyone has different preferences. We had our own entrance at the back of the hotel and our room appeared to come with a free cat :) This actually made our stay as we love cats but it might put off some guests as he/she was very determined to come in our room at every opportunity. Breakfast was excellent both mornings and the staff were very friendly. The location was perfect and easy to walk to the beach and shops. We would definitely stay here again and I have already recommended it to family and friends if they visit Ryde.

I needed somewhere that could safely store my bike with which they were very accommodating. Although they have a bike storage shed, they let me keep the bike in my room which really gave name piece of mind as it's not a cheap bike! Very friendly staff and a decent breakfast included. Another bonus is the discounted ferry service if booked through the B&B!

Only down side, our shower was poor water pressure, not very good when come to wash hair.. the sink was very tiny and didn't like the tap in centre of it, or the shelf above.

Good choices for breakfast. Mushrooms and tomatoes would be nice also with the full breakfast..location spot on.. very short walk to main street and sea front..

We noted some troubles with the plumbing (toilet and shower) in our bathroom, but this did not largely disturb our stay.

Bed was kind of terrible… and the shower is not very efficient but these are the only two faults really

So nice people here that it is worth the trip ! Small rooms but with everything needed. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and quickly served. The location is nice as it is about 5 minutes-walk from the beaches with a free car park ! Thank you

The staff were very friendly and polite and were able to easily answer my questions. I liked how cozy my room was, which made it feel more homely. I enjoyed the breakfast too. It was also a quiet B&B which I preferred. The B&B were also able to book the ferry from Portsmouth for me, which I appreciated.
