My single room was very small, particularly the en suite. The disused soap dispenser needs to be removed as it is in the way. It is impossible to splash water on your face from the basin.

Being an old hotel, I was expecting poor maintenance and therefore pleasantly surprised to find all in all the hotel was well presented. Excellent breakfast.

Conditioner for showers would have been nice, only shampoo provided. Also, not really the hotels fault but trying to cross the road in front of the hotel is a nightmare. There’s no pedestrian crossings and it’s rather dangerous.

Breakfast was nice to have included with the stay, food was tasty, tables were well set and staff very friendly. Emerald bar staff also lovely, gave us jugs of water to take up to room rather than charging us for bottles, was very appreciated. Rooms were also nicely cleaned upon return to hotel.

We could hear everything from the surrounding rooms; people’s conversations, music, showers, footsteps. Found it hard to sleep.

Great location, mostly the interior was smart and modern. Very clean.

Low water pressure in some showers and slow to receive hot water - no bar service in hotel bar as not enough staff to man Noisy rooms throughout evening and night with surrounding streets and seagulls

Location, superb for the Rothesay Tennis tournament - alternative bar next to property - breakfast was plentiful and worth the money £10 pp

Showers were very poor. Weak pressure and disappointing generally. Hairdryer was also fairly useless.

There wasn’t much of an atmosphere in the hotel due to the lack of guests. There was little incentive to stay in hotel itself any longer than necessary. The bed mattress was old and soft and kept ‘bowing’ btowards the centre. Hard to get a good nights sleep

There was nowhere to hang clothes apart from a hanger on the back of the bathroom door (but I would not have swapped the fridge for a wardrobe!) The front doors were locked at 8 pm and access after that was by key fob with a phone number if any problem. It probably won’t bother most people but as an elderly female solo traveller I prefer somewhere I can just walk in until 9pm or so.

Excellent location opposite the pier. Room was clean and comfortable, recently decorated, sea view. A fridge was provided in the room which great in the hot weather.

No shower/wash gel in the shower, very small bed, heard music from downstairs bar all through the night which didn't help my sleep. No wi fi in my mum's room/part of the hotel .

Easy check in, place to store bike as requested, friendly staff, in the heart of Eastbourne and opposite the beach.

The door had a gap on the floor, it didn't feel comfortable, someone can just peek from the outside, I had to put my suitcase and cover it. There was a bell tolling every now and then and also there was a loud music from the outside of the hotel on Saturday night, sounds like a bar or something. I hardly had sleep on my last night.

The location was good. The room is enough space for one person, also had a good view of the pier.

The bathroom/ shower was hairy. Rusty plughole- shower curtain brown and stained.

Lovely comfy bed, i slept so well. The room decor was nice and up to date. The soft swivel chair was comfy too- I’d love to buy one.

the room had an amazing view although small it was spotless but the mattress and pillows were extremely soft and we both had a bad night sleep. I woke up with a bad right arm it was numb

'Sea view' was mostly a view of the pier. The breakfast was one of the worst I ever ate in a hotel/bnb. Boiled mushrooms with a tonne of salt, hash browns that were cooked on the outside but still frozen in the middle, low quality egg, beans kind of sour like they had vinegar in them. Wouldn't bother spending the extra tenner if I were you, just go to a cafe nearby. Other than that, hotel was alright.

I slept like a baby, and I usually can't sleep well in hotels. Decor and cleanliness was fine, not an outstanding hotel but perfectly fine for a few nights and the price was OK for the South.

The rooms are pretty small, so is the toilet/bathroom. You actually get cramped between the washbasin and toilet while using the toilet. The fan provided was broken and the remote of the television did not work.

The location is great (right in front of the Pier).The staff was very helpful and courteous in providing any information that we needed.
