Nothing, a great hotel with great staff and facilities.

Room view of River Wye was stunning, newly refurbished bathroom, furniture/fittings were superb. Went to an Evening Party so did not have Dinner but Breakfast was really nice and very friendly helpful staff team.

Bathroom needs redecorating/re-tiling. Bed was smaller than expected - should be a super king at least, for the size of room and for guest comfort. This is nitpicking tho', we enjoyed our stay.

Staff lovely. Very good breakfast. Great location. Large, pleasant room.

Slight gripe on the size of the bed which I believe was a normal sized bed. Considering the size of the bedroom a larger bed, i.e. king size would have been more agreeable.

    food and accommodation were excellent.

If I have any criticism of the hotel, I would say that some of the paintwork in the upstairs corridors could do with a touch up. We had plenty of chance to witness this, as due to the hotels quirky design (and perhaps my poor sense of direction) we managed to approach our room via four different routes! Stairs are quite a feature of this hotel.

I am usually suspicious of reviewers who seem to go over the top with compliments, but my praise on this occasion is perfectly genuine. The location of the property is superb, our room (34) offering wonderful countryside views from the sliding glass doors and small balcony. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Sally who, when I phoned the hotel prior to booking online, was more than happy to accommodate my request for a particular room type. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, both the menu options available and particularly the standard of cooking/presentation.

I had not booked an evening meal and ordered at the bar on the night. Perhaps my own fault but I did wait rather too long for my meal to be served. Staff were very pleasant though. The nearby table with young people were too noisy. Bar open to the public I assume.

Lovely traditional room and reception/hall etc. Room was quiet. Comfortable bed. Room of good size. Good convenient parking. Centrally located. Convenient for motorway and other routes.

Parking was tricky, would be even harder in the peak season. To be expected in such a central location, at least it's free.

Brilliantly managed hotel, the building is old and looks a little tired in terms of furnishing and decoration.but the service and attitude of the staff is first class. And although I've said it looks a little tired, it was very clean and everything worked as it should and any issues weren't quickly sorted. The food was very good, well prepared, nicely presented and very good value. The location is great being so close to the town centre and the views over the Wye valley are lovely. One of the best managed teams I've encountered, polite, helpful, friendly and professional 5 star quality service.

Nothing to complain about really (except the price of wine!) very pleasant, will be back!

Breakfast was excellent, room was tired and could do with a brighten up! but clean and bed very comfortable. Was not the room i had clicked on picture wise on the booing.com website, but that's not the hotel's fault. Was still very nice. Could tell there were some improvements being made, as the top corridor was freshly painted and clean. Had an evening meal here one night, again food was very good. Wine very expensive, like London prices, for some reason, but was nice. Staff were exceptional. Honestly not stayed anywhere before where the staff were as polite and approachable (as they should be) Clearly managed well and respected very much, made the whole stay really memorable.

    Everything was fine.

I booked the room for my nephew, on his return to the UK from Australia. He was delighted with the room and with the breakfast. He felt well looked after, and I am grateful to all the staff who looked after him.
