Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDecor was a bit tired in places. No air-con in room. Some noise from room above, but was bearable.
Stayed here to be close to Alton Towers (about 20 min drive). Clean good-sized room with good facilities. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was powerful and hot. Great breakfast included with lots of choice and fresh options. Restaurant is great and very reasonably priced with big portion sizes and you can download an app which allows you to order food and drinks to your room at no extra cost.

United KingdomThe place needs a serious update regarding the decor and bathrooms. The bathroom floor was coming away and exposing the dirt underneath and the tiles were cracked and outdated. This wasn’t the housekeeping teams fault, the room just needed a serious revamp, along with the corridors and entrance. The windows also need replacing.
Location was great for our Alton Towers trip. Very reasonable price with a good carpark. Having a restaurant and bar downstairs was great. The breakfast selection was amazing, the continental and full English was fresh and delicious. Great value for money. The staff were friendly and happy to help. Bed was very comfortable and the housekeepers already set out the sofa bed for us. Sheets were clean, and the shower was warm and very powerful.

United KingdomSome areas of the pub were dusty and in need of a wipe over. Hotel room was tired and dated. Hole in wall/tiles where the old toilet roll holder used to be located. Furniture was old and had chips in and drinks rings on wood. No hairdryer or complimentary biscuits alongside the tea/coffee making facilities. TV signal was jumpy and only one channel worked on the evening we arrived. Was completely fine the following morning though.
Staff at the pub connected to the hotel were very friendly and professional. Food was very nice and reasonably priced, and as you would expect from a Hungry Horse pub chain. Food was served until 10pm, which was great after we arrived later than expected following a day at the nearby Alton Towers. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Continental (help yourself) and hot options delivered to your table upon ordering. Catered for vegetarian too. Beds were very comfortable and we had a peaceful nights sleep.

United KingdomI ordered Salmon in the restaurant and it was really overcooked so I had to have them make it again the second attempt was better but still a bit dry. I feel as though it was microwaved which isn't the way to cook salmon. My husband had the Gammon which was excellent so if I stay again I will get that instead.
Room was very comfortable and clean and shower was excellent, provided with lovely plush towels too which was lovely. hotel was quiet you couldn't here people in the corridor so got a great nights sleep. Staff were pleasant. Would stay again.

United KingdomThough well placed for the A50 it's a long hike from Blythe Bridge station with infrequent bus link. LOUD MUSIC in the bar/restaurant makes conversation difficult. To be honest, the place is showing its age and is probably overdue a makeover.
Lovely staff - couldn't be more helpful. Two nights booked separately ( due to rail strike ) seamlessly in the same room as if one booking. Though the menu wasn't vast, quality, quantity & price were excellent ( If the locals eat there it can't be too bad ! ).

United KingdomThe only issue other than traffic noise was the beds. The mattress was practically a U shape it was so warn and out of shape and the sofa bed wasn’t much more comfortable
Breakfast was lovely and the staff were all brilliant. Hotel was very quiet except for the traffic noise. Decor meets standards required but it could do with decorating. In places carpet is missing on the stairs and paint work especially upstairs needs sorting out but this didn’t do anything to ruin my experience at all.
