How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location is perfect for exploring the area, especially the east coast. The accomodation was immaculately clean, and the breakfast choice diverse. Kate and Steve are just the loveliest hosts! They provided us useful information about the area and made sure everything was perfect. :)

Both hosts were friendly, they shared fun stories and were helpful when planning sightseeing and hiking trips. They had a very cute, very friendly cat and their home was cozy & quiet.

Although we had a good time during our stay, we expected more quality compared to the price paid (may be explained because everything is expensive on the Isle of Skye). The equipments were quite modest and it felt like something you would experience in a mountain cabin. Also, as calm and introverted morning people, we would have liked more quiet time during the breakfast (as opposed to a lot of interaction with the host in the morning).
The house is located in a very beautiful area of the Skye Island. There were a lot of places to visit around the house which was very convenient. As for the house, it was exceptional to wake up and have breakfast with this view. There was a lot of choice for the breakfast and the hosts were very welcoming.

It's very difficult to find something we didn't like! everything was perfect and as advertised.

A week wasn't long enough. We could've stayed for a month or more but had to return home.
We were made to feel so welcome. Kate and Steve made us laugh every day. Never felt so comfortable in a BnB before. It felt like we were part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was fabulous too, with views over to the quirang from the window. Great choice of options for breakfast, proper coffee too 😋

You can really enjoy the nature there but it is at cost of convenience, not everyday you can find restaurant open nearby in October (shop was open though! )
Great place if planning hikes in Quiraing or water activities nearby, hosts are very friendly and have great recommendations and stories ☺️ rooms was big with amazing views

Kate and Steve are amazing people. The kindness of Kate and the superb sense of humour (and imagination) of Steve are worth a visit. Nonetheless, the place is super comfy, clean and well located (on a hill with fantastic views). Breakfast is the best and overall is a fair price. Best place I have stayed at Skye. Would definitely recommend.

That at that times every pub or coffee was closed in that area. Nur known that it was easy to grab some stuff in Portree.

The hosts. The room is lovely and comfortable, breakfast is great, but being welcomed into Kate and Steve's home is the true magic of this place. My stay was awesome after a (self inflicted) rough introduction to Skye. This place was an absolute stand out, particularly if you like a bit of friendly banter.
