Breakfast, and no glasses in our room.

The location was good and the hotel had been updated since our last visit. Sadly the breakfast was not good. The hot dish had been made well in advance of our ordering and had obviously been left in a heater, I felt that the hotel wasn't so busy that the breakfast could not have been freshly made to order.

The only issue I had was I have bad knees and the stairs were hard to do multiple times a day. The only other issue was the high step into the bath.

    Absolutely nothing. A good experience.

I have stayed in numerous hotels and bed and breakfasts throughout Scotland. The most important thing I find about any stay in any establishment is that it has to be clean. I cannot fault the cleanliness of The Tinto Hotel. Room was large, bright and clean with a view of the grounds. The bed was firm ( as I like it ) and the room was quiet, as was the hotel as a whole. I slept well and heard no noise during the night. The hotel has a well stocked bar and a facility for evening meals. I did not partake in food apart from breakfast. Breakfast was plentiful with pastries , toast, fruit and cereal with the option for a cooked breakfast ( which I took.) Everything was well cooked and warm upon service. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I was told that the building is under renovations , which I did not hear, I did peak into an open room that was in the process of renovation and it looked good..

The bathrooms could do with a bit of updating, although ours was clean and had everything required. glasses rather than paper cups would be nice.

The property was obviously in the middle of a major upgrade (although this didn’t detract from the facilities available. The breakfast was excellent!

there was only one towel in the room when we arrived , no reception answer on telephone , so we made do with one towel , such a shame that such a small detail was left out , surely two towels for a couple , most places are actually 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels ,. No floor mat to step onto from shower , again such a small detail to get right

excellent breakfast and friendly service , lovely breakfast room , thanks. I loved the location of the hotel and that it has such space of it's own grounds.

the staff were either busy doing other things or weren't there because of the refurb. there was no-one there to greet me or take my key when I left.

the place was very clean and tidy and the room was great. Everything is a little tired but they are in the middle of a Refurb. The facilities in the room were fine and I was able to get food nearby.

I think the price may have been put up as put as it was Jubilee Bank Holiday (ended up costing £145 with pet charges). Restaurant was closed for the evening (we were prewarned) however Biggar is only a short drive away with shops, takeaways and a nice park for walking the dogs. The hotel did however offer us plates and cutlery to take up to the room.

Quiet location, Grand staircase with picture window was impressive, pleasant gardens and really helpful Staff. This would be an excellent wedding venue. Nice country feel about the place. Room looked recently renovated nice white bedroom furniture and plush carpets throughout. Pet friendly and we were well looked after by Ann. Perfect for our one nights stay. We will come back again.
