Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room & bathroom were very small, indeed the sink in the bathroom was behind the toilet cistern. We should have guessed when it was described as the "Wee Room" It should have been described as a small or very small double because the pictures of a double room bore no relationship to what we got. If we had realised it was going to be that small we probably would have booked something else.
Nice country house hotel. Friendly staff & good reasonably priced food.

United KingdomThe room was quite dirty in places. Although some quirky features were endearing others such as the mixture of real and plastic flowers inside and out and amateurish plumbing seemed odd for a 4 star hotel.
Large and comfortable room that was well equipped and windows on 3 sides. Initial welcome was friendly and professional. The breakfast was of high quality. The hotel was pleasantly traditional and quirky. We would stay again based on value for money.

We loved our room in this lovely hotel, with a great view of the furry friends (llamas I think?) living in the garden! Breakfast was amazing, kept us going until mid-afternoon! The staff were really kind, helpful and friendly and we loved the bar and library area.

United StatesDespite the fact we had some issues: being booked into the wrong room, a broken window, and bar noice, we actually enjoyed our stay at Torrs Warren Country House Hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful so inconveniences were really of now consequence.
Comfortable beds, hot shower, great country setting, great breakfast, tremendously friendly folk (especially Nieve and Evie).

United KingdomOur room was above the restaurant so could hear the music until around 9-9.30 which isn’t really late but we had an early ferry to catch the next morning so needed an early night. Also the plumbing during the night was abit noisy but that’s to be expected in an old house.
Staff on arrival were really friendly and welcoming. Hotel had a good old fashioned country house feel with lots of lovely wood and real fires. Room was very spacious and excellent value for money. Evening meal was exceptional in the conservatory restaurant, couldn’t fault it .

What an absolute gem of a place. A warm welcome when I arrived from the lovely young lady called Neve on reception. She couldn't have been more helpful than she was. I was given the key for my room named the 'Pink Room' but was not pink in anyway thank god 🤣 The room was lovely and spacious.Very clean to a high standard and the bed was very comfy. There was a lovely 2 seater sofa to relax in and watch the TV, the WiFi in the room was perfect and a good signal. They only provide evening meals on a Wed, Thur, Fri and Saturday. As I was staying on a Tuesday night, it wasn't an option, but Neve suggested some local pubs that I could eat in if I wanted. As I was on my own and feel awkward going into a pub (billy no mates 🤣) Neve also suggested to go to Stranraer and try out the new Dominos Pizza place that had just opened (6 minutes to get there and it was fantastic). Brought it back to my room and ate it there as this was not a problem. Had a wonderful comfy sleep and got up for Breakfast in the morning. Again a lovely warm welcome, had a cereal to start and a full Scottish Breakfast to follow which was freshly cooked to order and outstanding. Could not recommend this place highly enough and I will definitely be coming back again if I'm in the area working. Hopefully the photos I took of the place do it justice for future guests. Absolutely lovely ❤️

United Kingdomand unfortunately the bathroom did not have any heat. However, there was electric oil heater which you could use to gain a bit of heat. Apart from this it was fine there is no dislikes
I like it the property location, because it was peace and quiet. there was free parking which was a bonus. they also was serving meals and had a bar. The hotel was very clean on entry of the building and in the bedroom plus the dining room. I did attend breakfast and this was very nice with plenty of coffee. I believe anybody else who stays at this hotel will not be disappointed. I do indeed expect to make a few more trips to this hotel and having stayed the once This means I will not be disappointed in the near future and I believe this gives confidence and less things I need to think about an arrival of this wonderful hotel. there is plenty of fields and wildlife. So in reasonable weather, you have the option of sitting outside and having a relaxation. you will not hear traffic just birds, singing and tweeting away in the natural outdoors.
