Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandAs usual, there were some problems with issuing my invoice by the staff at the reception.
Another stay at this beautiful, historic building in Bethnal Green. It's not central but easily accessed by the Central Line and close to restaurants and bars, including Satan's Whiskers, which is a must-go stop every time.

United StatesThe bed was comfortable but very low to the floor. There was bedside lighting but no bedside tables. I was afraid I would step on my glasses on the floor or knock over a water glass.
The room was spacious, with a lovely fireplace and a modern bathroom with plenty of places to plug in and charge devices.

United KingdomThe televisions need terrestial TV tuned in. Both sides of the bed need a bedside table The kettle and coffee machine need somewhere to plug in without having to move them to the floor in the corner of the room. The sofa could do with a couple of cushions. The mirror gets in the way of opening the toilet door and should be replaced by one on the wall. Hotel was further away from Shoreditch than we expected.
Beautiful building. Room was amazing design and we loved it. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Requests turned up in record time. Pool and gyn facilities were excellent.

IrelandThe location is not great - not in Shoreditch There was no option for early check-in despite requesting this. Some of the staff were not helpful. Rooms were very stuffy and was difficult to sleep. We had maintenance attend the room to fix it but it didn't make any difference.
Good sized room that was clean

United KingdomMy only complaint was that there was filming going on out the back of the hotel in York Hall and so it was very very very noisy into the early hours (2am). I was also asked at checkout if I would consider giving a £15 tip to staff - I thought this a bit cheeky given I had paid nearly £300 for the room for a night. The service was good but the room / suite wasn't cheap so a tip on top of that was a bit much.
Loved the room, and the location. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved the pool, the bathroom and facilities in general. Great decor in the hotel.

United KingdomNot much really. The only thing I didn't like was the taps for the bath and shower are a little confusing in the room. Otherwise all good.
Modern, spacious, comfortable room with all the functionality and facilities you could want. Excellent mini kitchen and pleasant bathroom. The pool and gym were the highlight. Peloton bikes, a small weights area and a new pool that felt super luxurious in the middle of Bethnal Green.

United KingdomDidn't like that the service charge for the cleaning staff is voluntary and shoved under the door the day you leave. I would rather this is included in the price and it is not additional.

United KingdomThe kitchen lacked some of the basic items , like a tea towel and frying pan , had to ask for a toaster which was supplied immediately and the kettle didn’t work for our stay , we were too busy to say so left that , the fridge didn’t close too well , seemed like some tlc needed , no instructions with the microwave to use as an oven , had to get maintenance out to fix phone but all sorted quickly , the room we had was right by the bar so that was really noisy with people late at night and we thought for having a child we would have been better placed somewhere quieter , the courtyard we were looking over was noisy with a wrestling match setting up well Into the evening and morning and that was disturbing but not hotels fault but was just a busy location , these things weren’t the worst just added up
Lovely self contained suite which was perfectly set up for the three of us with a 5 year old , nice living area and separate bedroom , spacious and clean , cleaned daily which was lovely and self contained kitchen for a short break away , staff were so helpful and attentive

United KingdomHad to wait a little while to get checked into the room as they did not have our booking, but to be fair to them they dealt with it in a calm way and made us not worry about the mix up, it was sorted and compensated with a room upgrade so I can't complain.
Welcoming staff that upgraded the bedroom after they had trouble integrating our booking from booking.com onto their website. Ladies were friendly and recommended places to go eat before we went to the event we booked.

United KingdomLittle touches by the staff team let the experience down for me: persistent knocking at the door through the afternoon to see if room had been cleaned (surely they should know?); very slow and disorganised check in experience (7 staff behind the desks, but only two serving, very chaotically); then the kicker: an invoice put under my door at 530am on day of departure with several hidden costs! I asked the staff what these were and nobody could explain beyond “They are discretionary charges, you don’t have to pay”. Turns out the hotel charges EVERY GUEST an extra £10-£15 PER NIGHT without forewarning or explanation, on an unclear invoice - which DOESN’T say they are optional…I wonder how much money the hotel is making from guests who don’t notice/don’t feel confident to challenge these charges? A really under hand and sneaky approach that ultimately soured my experience.
Beautiful hotel and room, efferent location, great breakfast, really nice facilities.
