Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was absolutely nothing that could be improved upon to make our stay more enjoyable
This is such an amazing place to stay. Panoramic views from bedrooms and from sitting room made the experience of staying to a lovely level. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and they were so welcoming and accomodating and could not do any more to make our stay a better experience. Fantastic breakfast with such a lovely choice of fresh fruit up to excellent coffee and cooked breakfast. The rooms were furnished with everything you could wish for and such lovely fixtures and fittings . Appreciate this is also the hosts home but it had such a lovely feel to it and loved the ornaments and lamps all the way down to the lovely crockery our meals were served with.

United KingdomWe thought hard about what we didn't like.... nothing :)
Hosts were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The property was set in over an acre of beautiful gardens in a quiet off the beaten track location overlooking the coast with sea views from numerous rooms. Comfortable, clean and cosy. Superb full breakfast and/or a lighter continental choice. Stayed for 3 nights. Why would we want to stay anywhere in the future.

Arabella and John are absolutely lovely, welcoming and generous hosts who have created an exquisite, peaceful and cosy retreat. The room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and the view of Mullion Cove from the window is truly stunning. Arabella and John were delightful and easy to talk with and offered fabulous tips about what to do and where to eat in the local area. Would definitely stay again and will highly recommend to others.

John & Arabella are wonderful people, they are very kind, friendly, welcome you in the warmest way. Even though we arrived a bit late and were a bit surprised, they were still very happy. They know a lot about the area and when we had any questions they were able to answer them & we really appreciate that. A beautiful house with exquisite interior, the bathroom is also very clean and tidy, the bed and mattress are so comfortable, especially the view of Mullion Cove I have been admiring for the past few days from the bedroom, sitting down with a cup of hot tea in hand and looking at the wind blowing, the raindrops gently falling, is like a medicine that will heal any soul. Before that, I had booked a room at the Housel Bay hotel to see the Lighthouse at Lizard Point, but it was so disappointed in everything & we left the hotel straight away after. We feel so lucky to have found this place, everything is better than what we expected. If you fancy a special and private breakfast, along with a beautiful view to take in while you eat, come here. We sought peace and closeness to nature - and here we got it. We will definitely come back when we visit Cornwall again. Once again I want to send my most sincere thanks to our hosts, they made our vacation more complete and meaningful.

United KingdomWe didn’t like that we had to Come home as we really would have loved a longer stay!
As soon as we arrived at this property it had a warm feeling! Everything about the stay was just excellent. We were greeted by John & Arabella and they both made us feel right at home. Our room was very clean with tea, coffee, toiletry’s supplied. The view from the room was stunning & it really does make every penny worth it. We had breakfast on the morning which was also fabulous and lots to choose from. Yoghurt, fruit, cereal & a full English breakfast. Along with tea, coffee & orange juice. We would 100% be returning in the future and recommend this accommodation, it makes a huge different to staying in a b&b when the people are so so lovely. We really did feel like we went from a home to a home. Thank you so much for our stay 😃

Location of the bnb was perfect for the wedding we were attending at the pollurian. The owners couldn’t do enough and were absolutely lovely. We had the sea view room and the view from the room is amazing. The room was a good size, loads of room and a comfy bed. They even dropped us off for the wedding. Breakfast was spot on. Overall Perfect

United KingdomJohn and Arabella were wonderful. Welcoming, helpful, and very relaxed - something that is hugely appreciated when one is on holiday. Astounding location, gorgeous breakfast, and immensely comfortable room. For someone who grew up in the same village 20 years ago, this experience was like coming home. My partner and I had the best time.
