Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything! Communication from Angela was exceptional - we had a car so she gave great directions, we could even drop our luggage at the gate before parking and this was taken to our room. On check in we were given restaurant recommendations and walks, galleries etc. The breakfasts were superb, the best omelettes ever! You could easily stay for a week and not tire of the menu. Easy walk to restaurants, shops and beach but still in a quiet spot. We would love to stay here again.

United KingdomOnly the top rooms have good views as the lower rooms look out on the windows of the houses on the opposite site of the road. However this was made clear when booking the room so expectations were set before we arrived. The bathroom was huge with a lot of space but there were too few hooks so, despite the space, it was a challenge to find places to hang towels or robes, other than pile them on the towel rail. Although there is no parking and spaces in the station carpark added to the cost, it was quite easy to drop/pickup at the house before parking the car.
Location of Trevose Harbour House is excellent, right in the heart of St Ives in a lovely street between the station and the town. The house is beautifully maintained with a pretty patio area at the front. Breakfasts were fantastic with plenty of choice and unusual twists on traditional favourites, all prepared to order and beautifully presented. Ollie made a lovely smoothy every morning to start the meal and requests for variations were happily accommodated. The quality of all the ingredients was impressive.

United StatesMaybe a lighterweight cover option for the bed for warmer sleepers.
The location was ideal, close to restaurants, shopping and perfect for train travelers. Breakfast was excellent and beautiful as well. Great choices artfully presented and fully represented the extremely high quality of the property. The decor was beautiful and the rooms were attended to at a very, very high standard with comfort and cleanliness in mind. The hosts were engaging, helpful and a joy.

United KingdomParking in St Ives is a bit of a nightmare; especially in busy summer days. Bring your patience with you if you dont have reserved parking.
Had a fantastic stay at Trevose House Hotel! Angela and Olivier were incredibly hospitable and attentive. Breakfast was delicious, and Olivier's local tips were a gem. Great room with a view, comfy too.

United KingdomThe property and staff were lovely, the stay was just a bit expensive. We had to come to St Ives a day early due to train strikes so this was a last minute booking.
Well thought out bedroom & bathroom. Lovely staff . Interesting and delicious breakfast. Lots of small things that add up to a good experience: large bath towels, fresh milk in fridge for morning tea, good lighting.

United KingdomOf course, with almost all properties here, there's no private parking, but there are provisions for parking in the local train station car park, which is very close, so not a problem.
Great location near the seafront right in the middle of St Ives. The whole hotel was really well decorated, maintained and cleaned. The room was really lovely, TV, WIFI, bathroom, everything worked as expected.

PolandYou can forget Superb, Outstanding or Excellent. Such words belong to the earthly realm, whilst when visiting Trevose, you're elevated to heaven. Angels running this place know exactly what a person needs for comfort, satisfaction and relaxation. Discrete, non-imposing Perfection is probably the closest term among human vocabulary to apply to this godly place. But there's one more thing: interactions with the Owners and with other guests made my experience close to visiting close friends who sometimes know me better that I do myself. PS Immaculately clean. Very well thought-of. Welcoming in every bit, if you ask.

Beautifully appointed property. Great location, just steps ftom train station, walking distance to restaurants, shops in town and on harbour and beaches. We traveled here from Texas (via London) and did not need a car. Owners Olivier and Angela Novarrez were extremely friendly and gracious. They prepare a fantastic multi-course breakfast, cooked to order, every day, including your choice of teas, coffees, lattes, etc. Special touches include fresh flowers in rooms daily, sparkling water carafe in room daily, complimentary chocolates for each guest each night, make your own cocktail bar in living room (honor system) every evening. Daily maid service. Owners assisted with dinner and beach walk recommendations.
