Due to renovations we did not see the complete hotel .

We did not eat at the hotel . We had a nightcap in the bar on our return which was enjoyable. Staff were very good. Christina at check in was excellent . Liked the terrace off the room .

I know that the hotel is under renovation. However, our room was rather dated. The most notable factor was the dirty windows with its weather beaten woodwork. The safe in our room was locked on arrival. It was two days before housekeeping resolved the issue, the day before we left. The reception for Wi-Fi was poor.

The spa facilities were second to none, absolutely fantastic, beautiful pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, could not fault it. The breakfast was to die for, a great choice of cereals, fruit juices, pastries, cheese, and meat. All meals were freshly cooked, these also were amazing. Unfortunately, the evening meal was disappointing. We had the traditional fish and chips, not very nice at all. Our waitress for breakfast was an extremely nice person and was very efficient. Thank you 😊

There was a slight issue with the sausages at breakfast but not the end of the world. I think judging by what other guests said, they would have been happy if they had been informed, but no one mentioned anything. Rooms: good size, but the lock was a bit tricky on occasion. Gym/sauna: we didn't use the gym, but sauna/steam room etc were used and were good. I think the pool could do with being a little bit warmer, but other than that, all good for us.

My friend and I came here 2 years ago and we said we would come back. Because of its location, it is perfect for beaches in all directions. Our last visit saw us stay in the newer part of the hotel but this time we were on the other side which was lovely. The hotel is set in the countryside surrounded by beautiful gardens. The inside has been left as original as possible, which is great. It has recently changed hands, and we hear there are lots of positive changes coming. I'm so pleased it has stayed as a hotel, it really is beautiful and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. We can't wait to come back again, and we hope that the new owner doesn't change the look too much and make it too modern. It would ruin a stunning house.

The breakfast buffet was minimal, if you had been relying on a continental breakfast then I think you would have been dissaponted.

The food was generally very good, we had dinner in the restaurant every night. The cooked breakfast was very nice. The pool was very nice.

There was nothing we didn't like as such. The Spa area was lovely but the changing area seemed a little tired in places but was still clean.

All the staff we met during our stay, were friendly, helpful and happy! Our room had everything we needed and was working eg heater, hairdryer, coffee/tea and bottled water etc. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and of a good variety. The grounds of the house were gorgeous. The interior in some areas were being renovated and looked great, and were being carried out without detracting from our stay.

The restaurant! Very disappointing. A hotel if that standard needs a top class dining area where people can dress up and be away from those using the gym/spa. We saw a lot of people coming down dressed for dinner and then looking disappointed and glum. No one was smiling. Really let the amazing hotel down.

The hotel provided towels and gowns to use in the spa, these items were very clean however they were a little tired, with holes in them and frayed. We were there for my daughter’s 22nd birthday and thought it would be nice to have a cocktail however the hotel bar didn’t make/serve cocktails. I just feel a hotel and spa would have a couple of different drink options to offer.

The breakfast was really nice and the portions were very generous. All the food was really great. The staff were warm and welcoming and helpful.

Can't think of anything cos there is'nt anything to dislike or knock. A memorable stay which will last in our minds a long time until we come again and we will return.

Beautiful and dated building with lots of authentic old antique's of interest in every room. A very large double room we had which was immaculate and fully contained.The restaurant was cosy but stylish and very welcoming.The breakfast was stunning and so much too.The menu in the evening was very good value for money and the chef made every dish a masterpiece.The food was incredible and begs you for more. The staff went above and beyond and always wore smiles with great manners and politeness. A nice touch was a bottle of Prosecco in our room on arrival as it was my partners 50th birthday and another the night before we left.Will come again,hotels and fascilities like this don't grow on tree's and i can honestly say i'm proud to be Welsh even though i live in the south and this gem is in the north.

It was a shame that out of the hotels control l, there was no internet. But the staff were polite and upfront about it, and made no attempt to mask the fact. Very minor inconvenience out of their control, but the only problem to pick at.

Staff were lovely, breakfast was incredible and pool facilities were very nice and very clean. Incredibly value for money overall, will definitely be returning. Exceeded my expectations generally, even more when factoring the price.
