The bistro was cold as the door to the outside was open frequently for access to the smoking area. With a few exceptions, notably the lady who checked us in and was very helpful, the younger staff in particular appeared to be untrained in hospitality. This was very noticeable at mealtimes when we felt ignored until we asked for something. There is a buzzer system on the tables which indicates a shortage of staff! A hotel is only as good as its staff and this one appeared to be struggling to cope at the expense of the guests. Such a pity as we loved the stay otherwise.

Excellent location just a couple of minutes from the motorway and other routes but very tranquil in our suite at the back overlooking fields. The hotel is cleverly designed and we had our own sitting room which was especially cosy for watching television on the wet evening we arrived. Very comfortable bed and everything looked well maintained and clean. If the rooms feel cold check the heater is on and set the thermostat to 25 then reduce the temperature when it's warm enough.

The car boot in the Saturday was a nightmare getting in and out with cars speeding from the car boot thought they were in a race track but also the amount of traffic up and down which was noisy and we was never warned about that before or during the stay but was warned about the event at the hotel which actually we never heard at all. The room was okay, but 3 people staying with 1 packet of biscuits and the shower could do with an upgrade as to try and find the temperature from the taps took a bit to get used too. The other rooms were noisy when leaving hearing hairdryers at 06.15 and then doors closed loudly waking us up and I’m a heavy sleeper.

The staff were amazing throughout the stay and nothing too much trouble.

Unfortunately we were in a room nearest to the lorry park so this proved noisy at times. Also Sundays be aware that there is a car boot sale held in a field within a couple of metres of the hotel. Which residents can amble around at leisure, but may struggle getting off the hotel car park in a timely manner around 1:30 to 2:30pm, due to car boot attendees causing congestion when leaving the sale. Although we did enjoy the car boot sale, the early setting up of this event meant us being woken extremely early.

Breakfast options available. Breakfasts are good lots of choice given. Meals at lunchtime tried and were delicious and 30% off during May. Room was clean and modern. Staff are so helpful and hard working Good car parking available Rural setting

Couple of things broken (handle on shower door, bathroom door lock), room a little smaller than expected, door card stopped working before check out time.

Missed breakfast sadly due to the comfort of the room. Loved the peace and tranquility of room 14. Food was good in the bistro. Staff very chilled and friendly.

I didn't feel like the room had been cleaned properly before our arrival. There was an ashtray full of cigarette butts on the patio table and the outside table was dirty. The single use shampoo/soap bottles in the bathroom were used.

Had to change room due to heating thermostat broken so no adequate heating Second room toilet seat broken and extract fan not working.

There was what looked like damp on the shower ceiling, but didn't cause us any issues. No one knew how to get the electric car charger to work , luckily it wasn't essential for us, but would have been handy.

Convenient for motorway access , friendly, helpful staff. Decent breakfast and nice rooms.

Weekend break away, would like to have had breakfast included in one night stay. Felt the breakfast was too much money, so decided to have breakfast elsewhere. Food in restaurant in the evening was good, but again felt it was expensive.

The free upgraded room was brilliant. Nice and clean as well.
