Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe location at the top of a steep hill.
Beautifully appointed room with excellent facilities and proprietors were very friendly and helpful. My only concern was the location of the property in Aberdyfi itself which is located at the top of a very steep hill. For young and fit people this might not pose a problem, for the more elderly and/or those with mobility issues, it would be. However, if you have a car then it's simply resolved with plenty of parking down in the town.

United KingdomNothing to do with room. Aberdyfi needs more restaurants, as very limited eating options.
Lovely room, very comfortable. Short walk into town centre. Parking outside property and very responsive host.

United KingdomThe only bad point was that the bathroom window opened up directly onto the neighbours who on this rare occasion decided to have a few conversations directly next to the window; but surely a rarity and really not that much of an issue.
The modern design of the room was lovely. The room itself and the ensuite were really well kept with great addiions to the room suchas tea and coffee making, great shower, lovely towels provided, smart tv and electric blinds for a little more privacy. Massive plus points though were the shower which was amazing, parking provided especally in Aberdyfi and the fact you have wifi in wales!!

United KingdomSome kind of screen is needed, or maybe a garden fence/ hedge as the blind can either be wide open or completely closed. This means if you want privacy you have to sacrifice natural light vice versa. It's a quality electric blind though & there are nice spotlights/ lamps in the room. The no hot food rule seemed a bit strange as it's suggested you can enjoy wine and a cigarette in the garden so why not hot food?
The room was gorgeous, a great amount of detail has gone into making it feel like a 5* hotel. It's beautifully decorated, very clean & quiet. Tea, coffee and nibbles are left out for you. Cosy bed. Very clean bathroom with a lovely shower; shower gel / moisturiser provided & clean, fresh white towels. There was a hairdryer and a fan also provided & storage space & tall mirror. I didn't use the garden area as it was raining but the little seating area overlooking the bay is a lovely addition.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike.
The accommodation was perfect for us during our visit to Aberdyfi. The Hospitality Tray was gratefully replenished in good time and even included one of our favourite teas and biscuits. The porridge pots were an added delight and the host Jen was also most delightful. Thank you.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike. I might suggest an extra shelf for storage in the bathroom so that it is not necessary to use the window sill to ease the opening of the bathroom window when showering as no extractor. Others have mentioned a small fridge which would be nice in order to fully enjoy a cold drink on the terrace. But these are just suggestions for consideration and in no way intended as dislikes.
The room is exactly as it appears in the photograph. Very tastefully decorated and presented with lots of lovely personal touches that I really appreciated. A good powerful hairdryer (a must for me) with an extension chord to reach the bathroom mirror. Plenty of coffee sachets and a lovely terrace with two chairs overlooking the bay and the sunset. Big towels!!!! Really welcoming helpful, accommodating hosts. A comfortable bed, immaculately clean and a great 2 night stay.

United KingdomI think the biggest issue, but not major, was being at the front of the property and overlooked by the people opposite. We didn't feel we had any privacy and the provided blind just left us feeling shut in on what was a beautiful weekend weather wise. Even if we didn't spend a great deal of time there. Again not major, but a little irksome. A small fridge in the property would be nice too. The hostess was happy to keep stuff cold for us but the impression given is that there is a fridge in property, same goes for clothes washing not actually in the place we were staying. We didn't actually need washing done and the hostess was very friendly but we felt we were intruding when needing ice or stuff we had put in the fridge.
The hostess was friendly without being intrusive. The location was excellent, although the hill up to it was an issue for my partner. That was no fault of the property as such, and it was Wales, but was something that could be mentioned. Room, and bed, was very comfortable, shower was excellent.
