Nothing it was perfect

Superb place for our stay whilst visiting the nearby mountain bike trail centre. I cannot speak highly enough of this place where Julie has great attention to detail (the welcome cake went down a treat) and everything you need is there. It was so nice to sit and watch the birds and the woodpecker on the bird feeders and watch the beautiful sun set each evening. Will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

What an amazing place to stay. Very comfortable with amazing view. There was also an delicious home made cake waiting on us when we arrived! Close to walking, cycling and amenities, yet quiet and relaxing. Would highly recommend.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Arrived to find a delicious home baked cake, as well as milk and juice in the fridge - a lovely touch and much appreciated. The place is spotless and the kitchen is very well equipped with utensils, pots etc. There was plenty of wood for the burner too. The views are stunning and it is just perfect peace and quiet with no-one else around. Lovely walks and the sunset was stunning. Plenty of games and books to enjoy - a wildlife book was helpful in identifying the birds around the feeders in the garden! Excellent shower too and comfy bed. It is only a short drive to Newton Stewart. Would highly recommend and would love to return for longer in the summer.

There was a slight septic tank smell one evening which had disappeared by morning.

There was nothing at all to dislike.

Everything. We had a fantastic stay. The view is amazing, so tranquil. Loved watching the birds feeding including a rather splendid woodpecker. Really warm and cosy with all the facilities you need. No problem with the road nearby, the traffic noise is negligible and doesn't intrude on the overall tranquility. A bonus of a wonderful baked cake too! We would love to return in the future.

The Roundhouse had an excellent view of the bay - sunsets are stunning. The garden has lots of action at the bird feeder. The deli at the castle and Roadhouse restaurant are worth a visit too.

Lovely quiet, welcoming and warm property with an exceptionally happy and helpful host. Lots of little attention to detail that really made the stay exceptional. Good location to explore the local area and very quiet and peaceful to relax at.

A wee bit noise from the traffic which we noticed to begin with, but it faded into the background as we settled in and got used to our surroundings.

A beautifully finished, furnished and decorated property. Everything you need is provided for and then some. Excellently located and positioned to see the sun set, great views of the Firth , and to watch the birds. Although we did not meet the owner, she was always easy to contact by text, pleasant to deal with and provided delicious cake for our arrival!

This place is really unique, great area, great accommodation. Just a lovely getaway location with lots of nice walks a short distance away. Some lovely touches such as the cake, really well thought out. We had a great stay. Lots to do around the area if you're active too. The sky was an unexpected treat at night.
