My fault, but the address '2 High Street' gave me the impression I'd be staying in some kind of suburb/village on the outskirts of Northampton. In fact the location is very handy for anyone dropping off the motorway and looking for a night's sleep t break up a long car journey, but not so good for someone primarily cycling or walking. It is very close to Sixfields - the football ground, with a sizeable number of American food chains, huge car-parks and a couple of large American-style bars (of which the one I tried was enough). The address is actually in a residential area of newly-built flats rather than in the kind of 'village' environment I'd (perhaps naively) hoped for from the address, and the impression one gets is that Northampton is a city entirely dominated by the car.

A very nice lady runs the place, and she was very helpful regarding my bicycle.

We were all very impressed by the interior design and the unique art decor.

Irina was excellent hostess and lovely place to stay. I will definitely go back to experience this all over again.

Really friendly greeting. Lovely tour and explanation of the facilities. Nice location. Nice style to the interior. Good amount of free parking. Bed was super comfortable. It was 5/5 for what i expected for the price and what I got.

Parking was tricky but worked out in the end.

The host was very helpful and polite. I was initially frazzled with trying to locate the property; however, I was quickly disarmed by the host's calmness and friendliness.

Didn't realise when booking that it was not an ensuite, however, the staff had arranged the rooms that the two rooms which were located on the top floor were allocated to two women guests who shared the bathroom.

The room was quite cold, which may have partly been due to the fact a pull down window was open, however it was incredibly stiff and struggled to close properly so couldn’t fully fix this! The bathroom door on the top floor didn’t quite close and lock properly, which wasn’t too much of a problem in that both rooms on the top floor were people we knew but would be quite unnerving if we didn’t know anyone else who was sharing them bathroom in case they accidentally came in!

The bed in the New York room top floor was very comfortable and there were so many facilities which I did not expect (kettle, toaster etc), and the pain au chocolates were a lovely touch!

The soap dispenser in the (beautifully decorated) bathroom needs attention as the soap doesn’t come out very easily. And my pillow was a little lumpy - the hosts might want to get some new ones soon. Recommend Mitre.

The room and house were absolutely charming. Lots of lovely little touches, interesting lamps and artefacts etc. Very artistic. And warm and cosy. I needed extra bedding which I was very grateful they were able to supply.

Shame that it's near a busy road, but with the windows closed, it's not that bad, something you can ignore and not enough to disturb the evening or through the night.

Room was very clean, warm and cosy, comfy bed, smart TV, good wi-fi signal, good shower, excellent night's sleep. Nice fresh pastry (in a sealed packaging) as a little something for a breakfast snack.
