We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

SwedenMy fault, but the address '2 High Street' gave me the impression I'd be staying in some kind of suburb/village on the outskirts of Northampton. In fact the location is very handy for anyone dropping off the motorway and looking for a night's sleep t break up a long car journey, but not so good for someone primarily cycling or walking. It is very close to Sixfields - the football ground, with a sizeable number of American food chains, huge car-parks and a couple of large American-style bars (of which the one I tried was enough). The address is actually in a residential area of newly-built flats rather than in the kind of 'village' environment I'd (perhaps naively) hoped for from the address, and the impression one gets is that Northampton is a city entirely dominated by the car.
A very nice lady runs the place, and she was very helpful regarding my bicycle.

United KingdomThe room was quite cold, which may have partly been due to the fact a pull down window was open, however it was incredibly stiff and struggled to close properly so couldn’t fully fix this! The bathroom door on the top floor didn’t quite close and lock properly, which wasn’t too much of a problem in that both rooms on the top floor were people we knew but would be quite unnerving if we didn’t know anyone else who was sharing them bathroom in case they accidentally came in!
The bed in the New York room top floor was very comfortable and there were so many facilities which I did not expect (kettle, toaster etc), and the pain au chocolates were a lovely touch!

United KingdomThe soap dispenser in the (beautifully decorated) bathroom needs attention as the soap doesn’t come out very easily. And my pillow was a little lumpy - the hosts might want to get some new ones soon. Recommend Mitre.
The room and house were absolutely charming. Lots of lovely little touches, interesting lamps and artefacts etc. Very artistic. And warm and cosy. I needed extra bedding which I was very grateful they were able to supply.
