The only thing we didn’t like was the odd configuration of the ensuite, being a wet room with the shower just inside the door meant having to paddle to get to the loo! Small issue though and we had a great stay!

Beautiful place, lovely gardens and so interesting to see the house and chapels. The room was a good size and the bed comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful.

    Nothing really.

This place has a lot of history, and was very interesting to spend some time exploring. Great library and heaps to see. Set on a large property in a quiet rural area, but just up the road from the local pub and shops, 10 minutes from Durham. Would recommend.

Pillows very uncomfortable and the uncontrollable and louder than average extractor fan in the bathroom woke us up at 6:20 each morning when it was switched on by ????

Great location, parking and building. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Very little that I didn't like. Some of the facilities were a bit tired and some problems with the showers & heating. Could have done with a little more room refreshments.

The stories of Ushaw and the beautiful gardens were my favorite bit. Also thought St Cuthbert's chapel beautiful.

It would be perfect if there was an on site restaurant for guests.

An amazing and different stay in a magnificent former monastery. Spectacular chapels and rooms used in it's time as a monastery are open to the public and guests. The property must be preserved for posterity.

We found nothing to dislike - even not having a television in our room turned out to be an unexpected bonus (not missed at all).

A wonderful place with amazing and attentive staff (thank you especially to Sam who met us on arrival and was so helpful and kind throughout our stay). Beautiful chapels and amazing history of the buildings. Very comfortable room and bed. Easy access to the city of Durham.
