Area was a bit rowdy on a bank holiday weekend.

Spacious room in an excellent location with wonderful views. Close to many pubs and restaurants and a short walk to local area transport. No evening meals served but not becessary with so many alternatives nearby. Excellent breakfast and good parking.

View was only of main street, not of the sea or beach, but 0.k.

Room was very comfortable and cleaned every day. The breakfasts were exceptional.

The hotel is rather run down, the swimming area could do with a lot of work, mould in the tile grout, male changing facilities that are barely there the lockers dont work, the smell of urine through the pool area was odd. The ensuite: Basic shower/bath combo with a feeder shower nothing truly to write home about, could use some modernising. The actual hotel: Showing plenty of signs of wear and tear, scuff marks on the walls, tape on the carpet to cover the frayed parts, walls where paint is flaking or hap hazzardly painted over. The cost: overall for £700 wasnt the most expensive for the duration of our stay but still for that price I'd expect a bit more from the hotel as in less rundown.

The staff, the breakfast and the room all were lovely. The staff were very helpful to us. The breakfast was good, the room was clean, a bit basic but clean.

I think 'faded elegance' sums it up. A lovely hotel but a bit worn at the edges.

We have been here a number of times in the past the last time being about 6-7 years ago and the Hotel is in need of a real update. The carpet on the the stairs is really worn and unsafe in parts which have been taped down but really needs replacing. The bathroom again was dated with a lot of mould around the ceiling of the shower area which I would suggest needs looking into.

The breakfast was ok but I would remover the label that says you have HP brown sauce when clearly it is not. For someone who has asperges things have to be what they say for reasons such as taste and HP brown sauce is one of them which is the only brand of sauce I can use. When the sauce dispenser is labelled as HP brown sauce I would expect it to be that but it wasn't so ruined my breakfast that first morning and then I went out and bought a branded HP sauce for the remainder of the stay. I know this may sound petty but for people who suffer with these issues and things have to be what they say it can be quite stressful. Other than that the breakfast was good with a good selection. The location is fantastic aswell with being so close to the sea front and was the main reason we chose to stay at the hotel.

Missed having a little fruit with breakfast, would've been a nice addition, also the dog friendly breakfast area would've benefitted from a little background music, the same as the main breakfast room - it was deathly quiet in there!

Check in was quick and easy, and the lady on reception was lovely. Room was comfy as was the bed. Breakfast was also great. Views from the rear gardens were also fantastic

The jacuzzi was cold. The pool / spa area was in need of some TLC. The bathroom decor was very tired.

Breakfast was good. Would’ve liked scrambled egg option instead of fried. Great location. Last stayed in 2003 with my sisters.

The room we had we have stayed in before and I noticed the bathroom should have been redecorated by now.

As we have stayed at The Victoria before we were very pleased that finally the lift had been replaced. The breakfast was as plentiful as usual although a variation on the eggs (i.e. scrambled ) would have been nice.

Everything, food, the character and charm of the building, the staff. Great that the evening resteraunt and bar next door so not noisy.

The hotel was dated and also struggled to turn radiators off. Either direction kept them on. We also didn’t get our room cleaned in two days by house keeping
