How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Free WiFi hardly worked in Room 2. It was extremely weak and water easily splashed out of shower onto bathroom floor when taking a shower.
Great size room, comfy bed, great location.

the heating was on including the plug in radiator also the fan was on (fans do not help cool a room only the person!!!!) this is either a mistake or policy and needs to be fixed - its a big waste of co2 emissions I mentioned this to the woman on reception on leaving

Noise from outside but it’s to be expected, remember to close the windows which I forgot to haha
Property is excellent, always clean and tide, location is brilliant as well, staff on shift where extremely accommodating, friendly and always there for a laugh.

Sofa and chairs were not clean. The room that I got was below ground floor, so there was no windows, which meant a fan for fresh air was always running noisy.
Staff were very helpful. Toilets were super clean. All essential amenities were there including soap, towels, cookies, tea and kettle.

On this occasion the room wasn't up to standard. Not necessarily staffs fault, a few easy to miss stains/dust. This is the second or third time i’ve booked a “larger” room with the intention of sharing with friends but the rooms aren’t suitable for more than 2 guests. But overall great property!
The location and the staff are exceptional at Le Ville. Cannot fault the friendliness or helpfulness of the staff. Super convenient and central for most city centre activities.

The room suffered from a lack of natural light and was also a tad noisy. This was not a problem when I stayed previously, but was room/floor specific.

The sofa bed was really uncomfortable. I had read this on lots of reviews beforehand but it really was that awful. Big lumps in your back and dips by your legs. Could be easily rectified. In the bathroom there seamed to be a leak near the sink. Paint was peeling off a lot and was on the floor.
The staff were brilliant. Lovely welcome. Brilliant location. I would use again.

We were put in a room that didnt have a window and made it unbelievably hot.
It was good for the money and beds were comfy with decent space.

The bed was not a double ged, more of a 3/4 bed.

Small shower. 2 nights without room service. Window not closing tightly you can feel the wind coming inside the room.

The shower door did not fully close, the toilet felt like it pointed in towards the wall so it was a bit of a struggle to get my lets in.
Extremely good placement for the gay village, however ensure you are planning on a late night as the street noise does get a bit rowdy. The rooms are a bit tired, but they are clean and functional. If you get get this hotel at a good price I would definately say stay here.

Our second bed was a sofa bed which collapsed in on itself in the middle of the night so we ended up sharing a bed. When the windows (both sets) are closed it does keep the noise out, there is a club nextdoor, but if you need to open the windows, expect it to be noisy!
The hotel is right in the middle of Canal street (Gay village for anyone who doesn't know Manchester), convienient if you are partying in the area. The staff were friendly. The shower room was fun with sparkly walls.
