Small issue was not being told where anything was when booking in. Nothing about how to book for dinner, where the bar was or restaurant -nothing about breakfast or a cursory mention of where anything is. Nothing in the room either. On check out, nothing about did you enjoy your stay. Only a small thing but the receptionist is often the first and last people you speak to when staying at a hotel and so can make all the difference.

Great location and really friendly and helpful staff especially in the bar and restaurant. Room had everything I needed. The food was excellent. Well presented and lots of choice.

Needs a repaint inside and out. Changing room could do with a refresh - bit damp and tired looking. Room got a bit hot at night.

Nice location, setting and general ambience.

Room was so far away from everything. Had asked for ground floor due to mobility issues. Was really far away.

Keeping of the original woodwork in dining area. Really beautiful.

Its set in quite an old building, so rooms are packed together, decor could be better. The bathroom could have done with an update. Unfortunately, all the plug sockets were the furthest they could be from being useful

Avis Park had ample parking and set in a lovely scenic part of the country. Room was large enough to cater for me and had amenities that I needed such as small fridge, ironing board and typical amenities.

The bed was very hard initially, and through no fault of the hotel the weather twinned with a very top floor room made for a boiling room, the fan helped but it was a very uncomfortable sleep. The floors all on the top floor were very creaky as well

Beautiful surroundings, lovely building, pleasant staff with lots of facilities to use

Overall the Hotel looked in need of some TLC and could benefit from some decoration both inside and out. Breakfast was poor and overpriced - On Sunday the Kitchen staff stated they had run out of Greek Yoghurt, red berries and butter. Also there were no plates or bowls for some time.

The room was fine albeit in need of a bit of TLC. The member of Staff in the Restaurant - Carl, was excellent. Attentive at all time to our needs and very helpful. Dinner was very nice on both evenings, well presented, and enjoyable. Plenty of Parking.

Been there a couple of times and its getting better. lots of painting and refurb going on but using the function room bar not the main bar for a huge hotel caused A LOT of moaning. The gym is just pitiful and needs redoing completely The outside of the windows are filthy!

Lovely setting. They are trying hard during refurb. Notable staff are the restaurant manager/ head waiter and young girl on reception/ bar/ doing just about everything

We have stayed 2 times previously at this hotel in their suites. The previous times the suites 1 on the top floor and one on the 1st floor were excellent. This time we were given the Houston suite which was nowhere near the standard of the previous suites we stayed in. Disappointing .

    The grounds are beautiful

The bed was too hard the beer was bad the breakfast was £17:50 which in my opinion was excessive and generally the food was not that good

It was dog friendly and the staff were very friendly and helpful there was plenty of open space for my dog to roam about and play
