The location was spot on, only a 10 minute walk in to town which was pretty much a straight line so you couldn't get lost. On the way in to town you pass lots of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It was great that there was a car park on site and it was secure so no need to worry about the car being safe. The pub is absolutely lovely, a real little gem with lots of choice. I think we met all of the staff over the 2 nights we were there and they were all very friendly & helpful. On arrival everything was explained, we were shown to our rooms and asked if there was anything else they could help with.. Our room was big and had everything we needed. There were fresh towels, toiletries, tea & coffee, a hairdryer, an iron & ironing board, thick curtains and wifi, i'm not sure you could ask for anything else. Breakfast was included in the price & you won't be disappointed, it was delicious and even better that you could choose what you wanted and didn't just have to have a fry up. I had the Yorkshire breakfast on the first morning and a sausage, bacon & egg bap on the second morning. You also have a breakfast bar with cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, juices etc which is help yourself. Overall, it was a thoroughly lovely weekend with the added bonus of the sun coming out! We'll definitely be back to stay again. Thank you to all the staff at The Waggon and Horses.

Unfortunately due to being along a main road and bus stop was quite noisy. People coming out the pub were very loud also so couldn’t sleep til around 1am

Great price! Spacious room with a comfortable bed and very powerful shower! Breakfast was lovely with vegan options available.

The pillows were a little hard for our liking, but that's just our preference.

The Waggon and Horses is very well situated with just a short walk to the centre of York and close to many restaurants. Breakfast was one of the best we've ever had. Friendly staff.

Excellent B & B over a pub, within easy walking distance of central York. Book early if you want to stay here, I initially booked for 1 night months before, and when I tried to book an additional night a week or two later, it was already booked up. No wonder when you compare the quality to the price.

Lovely stay at the wagon and horses. It’s our fourth visit. The staff are wonderful, so kind and helpful. The rooms are absolutely spotless, really comfortable and stylish. All I can say is the shower was a challenge. The breakfast is all encompassing, they cater for everyone. Overall a really nice time had by all.
