How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The smoked salmon omelette at breakfast was very ‘solid’.
Our room was spacious and comfy but unfortunately overlooked the main road through Warkworth which was noisy in the early morning. Dinner was good.

it would have been nice if there was a residents' lounge although the bar seating was good.
Room was spacious and comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were generous with good choices.

Would advise to book room at rear some road noise in morning
Stayed here several times , love it . Excellent staff, good furnishings , bedding , spotlessly clean . Only ever had breakfast very good and drinks in bar. Has a very good evening menu and informed by other guests food very good. Take pride in hotel Warkworth is a beautiful village , and an ideal base to visit Northumberland. Loads to see in area , can’t beat Northumberland coast

Car parking is difficult at the hotel. However, free parking is just around the corner on market square a 5 min walk to the hotel.
The hotel catered for everything we would need for a comfortable stay. Rooms were great tea /coffee making facilities , fridge TV and very large comfortable bed. I was even able to take my dog with me. The hotel provided dog bowls towel and blanket , with some dog treats thrown in to! Staff were helpful and friendly and obviously dog lovers, and Obi , my dog, had a lovely time also! The hotels location is great, in a beautiful setting near a river and the castle. We didn't have to drive far to the coast. Breakfast was amazing with so much choice. There were 2 dining rooms, one for dogs and one for no dogs, which was great for guests. Go to Amble it has the best fish and chip shop!!! Thankyou all for a wonderful relaxing l stay ! 😎

the restaurant was too quiet, we ate alone then someone else came in as we finished, the portion was too big but maybe I wasn't hungry enough....? I would stay again though definately.
loved our room and bathroom suite, very pretty clean and comfy. Reception friendly and great to park the car at hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff, really nice. Food great. Only small fault was sloping floor in the bedroom which was a bit peculiar but it is an old property. Have visited before and will definitely return.

Room was on a slope and had a fair bit of traffic noise.
Breakfasts were good. Dinner the one night we ate there was good.

I stayed with my dog and the staff at the hotel were very accommodating and helpful. Could not recommend enough.

Parking was diabolical and virtually non-existent! We watched one guy with a large Lexus take 20 minutes to get into a space. I had already given in and parked outside. Not a great deal of evening atmosphere.
Room and bathroom were first class. Bed was very comfortable. Very pleasant dining.

No complaints at all!
This was one of the best little hotels we have stayed at in years. It really did surpass our expectations in every way from the welcome we were given to the time we checked out. The whole place was clean and fresh smelling with the diffusers spread all around, which were pleasant but not overpowering. Our room was worth the little extra to take it up from a standard room to the one we were given. I loved the mattress but couldn't get the name as I would have loved one like it after a really good night's sleep. The extra bits and pieces; the dressing robes, the toiletries, the Coffee maker all added that special touch. We stayed over for our evening meal rather than try somewhere else and we were not disappointed. Had a lovely meal and bottle of wine to go with it. Breakfast next morning was more than adequate with a list of at least 8 choices, including Craster Kippers as well as the usual bfast cereals juices croissants etc. My only "complaint" was that the meal portions were for both my wife and myself, too copious to manage. As the manageress said, the portions are not for the faint hearted. Overall, a great experience, and a lovely town to visit. Looking forward to our next stay. Thank you to all the lovely staff. I can't remember passing any of them without being greeted with a smile.

Nothing to dislike at all. A disabled toilet downstairs would be wonderful, but I don't know where it would go!
Absolutely everything was spot on for us. We've stayed here before. My husband has a disability and it can be difficult in new surroundings. The Warkworth Hotel looked after us so well,with no obvious fuss. Nothing was a problem. The room was lovely and the breakfasts were superb. We enjoyed dining in for three nights. All excellent meals. Thank you Warkworth Hotel!
