Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bathroom being downstairs, off the kitchen, can be awkward. The lounge could be a bit more homely, with better seating, and maybe a table lamp, but it was comfy enough. The kitchen would definitely benefit from more utensils, being a little better equipped.
Off road parking at the rear of the property. Very good size property, large kitchen diner area, with lots of worktop space. Fairly large bedrooms, with comfy bed. Very close to the village centre, shops, takeaway and pubs.

United KingdomThere was very little 'extra' in the house. I usually have things like foil, cooking oil, salt and pepper etc and then find I don't need them as there's stuff in the cupboards and drawers, quite often left by previous visitors. This time I forgot and there was basically washing up liquid and a sponge/scourer. We needed a brush and dustpan as my husband dropped a jar of coffee but couldn't find one so had to use the hoover, would have been better to get the bulk up in a dustpan and into the bin (minor issue I know) There was no local maps, information etc or visitor book to share ideas in where to visit what to see. Maybe most guests are working locally or visiting family?
The house was located in a village with easy access off the A10 Ely Road. There is a train station on the King's Cross to King's Lynn line giving easy access into Cambridge and Ely, trains half-hourly. In the village you have 2 pubs, a Chinese, a pizza shop, a chippy and a kebab van. There's also a bakery and a OneStop store. The house itself was comfortable whilst basically furnished. It is on the main road but there's not a lot of traffic so no issues sleeping.

United KingdomThe double bed wasn't very comfortable and the duvet wasn't very soft. There were no bedside table lamps so you had to get out of bed to turn off the lights. There was not much in the kitchen. some better cutlery, crockery. There was an ironing board but no iron. A cafetière would of been good.
It was quiet, clean nice furniture. tv. plenty of space. Relaxing.

United KingdomUnfortunately we found he beds really quite uncomfortable. They were ever so hard and we were only provided with one pillow each. The duvets were very thin which was perfect for the time of year but I couldn't imagine using that in the winter time. The downstairs room had the neighbours bedroom above it and they were being noisy late into the night but hardly the fault of the owners.
Much bigger than i expected. The kitchen was lovely and new, bathroom was great. It was an enormous benefit to our friends mum who was using crutches at the time to be able to have the bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. The village of waterbeach is lovely and nice that within walking distance there were shops and pubs. About 20 minute drive into Cambridge but I noticed busses as well.

United KingdomSteepish stairs. Could hear neighbours at times. Tight parking space.
Property was very clean and well maintained. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was situated downstairs next to kitchen. The shower was good and plenty of towels available. Kitchen met our needs but we ate with friends for the 2 days we stayed for our visit. One parking space was available for our car which could have been a little tight had all available spaces were used. TV available and wi-fi. Not suitable for a noisy family or large group of people as neighbours close and at times we could hear them talking. But not a problem for us.

United KingdomSome of the fixtures felt quite fragile and in need of an update - the towel rail in the bathroom is barely hanging on, the tap in the kitchen shifts when you turn it on and the shower was leaking at the bottom. The stairs are extremely steep and narrow, and you can feel the carpet gripper spikes coming through on some steps. A few small improvements would make a big difference, because it really is a good spot that could be wonderful.
It was easy to find, the parking was great, the apartment was secure, quiet and the perfect size for what we needed for the weekend. The rooms got very hot but that was offset by the fans that were provided.

United KingdomAs someone who is scared of bugs, I didnt appreciate the 5 spiders in the bathroom.
It was modern and had everything one would need; like tea, coffee, spices, cutlery and tableware, even though we never used them. Beds were comfy and sofabed was also comfy. Towels were supplied. Would choose to stay here again if visiting the area in the future. Host sent details of check-in and check-out with a detailed map and photos of how to find the property we had been allocated. Prompt replies.
