There was an emphasis on game/venison dishes on main menu. Prices were rather steep, 3 scoops of ice cream with no decoration/wafer etc £7.50? Good idea

I didn't like the scrambled eggs. I think they were powdered eggs ugg That's my only complaint. Apart from the eggs, it was Brilliant!!! I would definitely book again!!!

I like the location A 20 mins walk to Ambleside plenty of restaurants and cafes.The Room was spotless, Lovely hot water day and night, the staff so polite and helpful. Really comfortable. Will definitely go again.

Hotel entrance had moved since our last visit, bit confusing finding reception, felt strange right next to the bar. Room service was a bit erratic, with bed make up and towel changing.

Good food and good service. Hotel had changed somewhat since our last visit. Room was fine. Friendliness of the staff was impressive especially in the dining room.

Only one chair in the bedroom so one of us had to sit on the bed to watch the TV. The access to our bedroom was via multiple set of stairs and due to our age (80, but not disabled) we struggled to carry our suitcases that distance. We tried the lift, but became trapped in it for about 10 minutes. After release the lift was out of action for the rest of our stay. The staff were very good and helpful in releasing us from the lift once they discovered we were trapped. The instructions in the lift were somewhat confusing as to how to set the alarm off. The car parking is abysmal.

The dining room and the meals were very good. The staff were very obliging and cheerful and the response to our needs. The room was comfortable and clean.

Only minor thing was there was no shower toiletries but that only gripe does not stop me from returning.

The room was spotless bed comfy and the lounge restaurant area was very warm and welcoming plus decor was very tasteful.

Not too keen on the amount of dogs allowed in No hot water in the morning for a shower The toiletries were positioned too high up and not easy to reach if having a bath

The stairs! We had big bags and found it difficult with no elevator - they did change our room to the first floor when I mentioned how hard it would be though.

Almost everything about this property is incredible - location, people, facilities, rooms. The service was fantastic and we had wait staff at the restaurant giving us suggestions at what to see, which was appreciated.

No drinking water in room or minibar. No phone to contact reception. Not accommodating for prior request for kids to be near parents rooms. Can add board games to their bar/restaurant which is a great place otherwise.

Great location, gr3at views from skme rooms, good bfast. Good size of and view from my room. However. Same superior category other room was tiny. Also 3rd room with kids was given at other end of hotel Inspite of early and several requests.i also offered to pay but they couldn't change kids room which was literally the last and farthest room compared to mine which was the first. Was it because it was not booked directly thru their site? Or just an oversize by one of their staff? I would recommend as well as go back but have to be careful and get written confirmation on rooms allocated.

Food is extremely average. Service virtually non-existent and food just a step up from Wetherspoons. Poor quality ingredients mass produced at a central kitchen, well presented but lacking any clear identity or ethos.

Slightly further out of Ambleside than I had realised. This wasn't a problem and we walked in which was about a 15 mins walk.

Lovely pub. Great selection at breakfast, staff were all friendly and helpful. Room was well sized with a lovely view of the lake. Bathroom was perfect, lots of space and clean. Would definitely recommend.

The shower should have been a hand held one. More convenient. I had to walk miles and opened many many doors to reach my room.

The fruits and cherries cocktail is wonderful! It is close to public transportation.

Food not up to scratch. Very disappointed with the quality and presentation. Although the service was excellent.

Lovely interior, nicely decorated, spacious, light and welcoming. Comfortable bar area with lots of available tables. Room well equipped with every need catered for, especially the huge, comfortable bed and deep bath and large fluffy towels.

Staff greeting us were very friendly and helpful. Isabelle was so polite and helpful and made us feel very welcome right from the start. Room was very cosy and set up was lovely with a gorgeous lake view (room 7). Bathroom was spacious clean with fabulous sized powerful shower. Comfy nights sleep followed by a fantastic fresh and filling breakfast. Thanks to all staff for their exceptional work in providing such a great quality experience 😊 Will definitely return without hesitation and bring the dogs next time ( all the dogs got just as good service along with a breakfast sausage!)
