The shower, always an acid test, was just about adequate and the window was broken.

The hotel was clean, the staff were attentive and polite, the food was of good quality. Our stay was exactly as expected and was just what we wanted.

The hotel is purpose built (I thought I had booked a high street inn, probably my error) so lacked the character I anticipated. The bathroom facilities are dated and scruffy, and need replacing, eg discoloured and chipped bath, and a very damaged sink waste, with the original plug fixture missing which leaves a big gaping hole, ready to swallow earrings or any item smaller than 1.5 inches across (a rubber plug was there to use when the sink has water in it), and overuse of bleach has removed all the chrome. The water pressure was low so the shower only dribbled or trickled. Unusually, the toilet was separate from the bathroom. My main gripe is instant coffee - no filtered or ground coffee available at breakfast for those of us who can't bear instant - time to invest in cafetieres!

Spacious room, comfortable bed, pleasant view over gardens. Quiet, peaceful location with short walk to Clarks Village shopping outlet, with free parking, and I was able to leave the car at the hotel for a few hours the next morning while I did some shopping. Staff were young, smartly dressed, very polite, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good, offering haddock and baked cod alongside the usual English breakfast, so a good selection. I arrived late the previous evening and was able to get a jacket potato in the restaurant, although a dinner menu was available for those wanting dinner and dessert.

Breakfast experience very good. Plenty of choice from the buffet or as in my case full english. Sausages etc were good quality not cheap stuff plus well cooked not a load of greasy mush.

Tv signal..I’m a news hound so not being able to have bbc news on was a pain. No black pudding at breakfast

Room was perfect with a great shower which I had requested. Staff were so very friendly and helpful. The one facility that let it down was the tv some days you could watch all of itv channels and others days would only play bbc channels..most odd. Breakfast was a treat. It allowed for me to only choose cooked items I would eat…still praying black pudding will make a come back to menus in all hotels not just this one. Breakfast service was efficient but always with a smile too..wonderful. I ate dinner once at the hotel as the menu was very much reduced which I can quite understand as the hotel was extremely quiet. However service again came with friendly communication and smiles.

The choice and quality of the breakfast coffee was not good. The croissants on the first morning were stale and there were none on the second morning. The menu in the restaurant was a bit limited. The building fabric is tired but acceptable. The bathroom and toilet floor was very slippery even when dry. A grab handle on the wall above the bath would have made my wife feel safer.

The staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast choice and quality was acceptable. The room was ok. It was clean and gave reasonable value for money.

The heatwave was outside hotel control, but made the room very hot. The shower was hard to handle. A notice on the wall would be useful.

The staff were very helpful, especially Cassandra on reception.

The room was far too hot especially the bathroom. No air conditioning to cool it. Water pipes beneath the sink were boiling all the time and filled the room with excessive heat. It made it uncomfortable to stay in. With the benefit of hindsight I wish I had asked for a room move. Unfortunate.

The bathroom needs some repairs. The shelf made of glass was rocking. The shower head holder was not working as it should which allowed the head to move. Because of this the chrome towel rail was very rusty probably due to water constantly spraying on it . The towels had frayed edges and the pillows were thin.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was really good. Our room was clean and well laid out. Parking was plentiful and safe. Located conveniently for local shops etc.

The bathroom was very, very hot! We had to put towels on the floor because it was too hot to stand on. The room had no air conditioning. The staff helped us with a fan which we propped near the window, which cooled the room enough to be comfortable.

The morning staff was very accommodating! Aside from getting us breakfast very early in the morning, she also made us sandwiches for lunch! Super kind and very helpful!

The attitude of the chef when my elderly mother wanted scrambled egg on toast rather than a full English. She made my mum feel uncomfortable and upset that she'd ordered something not on the menu and the chef was put out.

The breakfast was ok for the price, but the selection of meat and cheese was somewhat disappointing. Grated cheese, brie and a couple of slices of ham.

Showering or bathing was difficult - plenty of hot water, but only dribbles of cold!

Staff are friendly and welcoming. The reception area has a lounge area as well as a bar. The bedroom had a separate toilet to bathroom which I thought brilliant. Bed mattress a little soft for my liking and woke with crooked neck. Breakfast lovely.
