How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything was perfect. Very welcomed and allowed to check in a little earlier. Amazing breakfasts. Best poached eggs ever. Room was very clean and comfortable. They catered for everything you could need.

The cooked breakfast was a real treat and, like every thing else, of a high standard. In general, John and Nick were clearly trying to provide the best possible service.

This is one of the best places we have stayed. The location was perfect, quiet yet close to the town. The room was lovely. Really well decorated and perfect for our stay. We really enjoyed the breakfast. Good choice, excellent service and everything was cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the hotel bar. John and Nick are just wonderful, so friendly and kind. Nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend Westfield House and we will definitely be staying again.

There was nothing we didn't like.
We liked the fact that it was very clean and the little touches. Sticker on the folded toilet roll, toilet sticker stating sanitised, biscuits, tea, coffee, bottled water. The owners Nick and John were very attentive, friendly and made you feel right at home. Lovely people.

Having to leave!!
Everything!! This was a return visit based on a previous great experience. The hosts go above and beyond to give their guests a wonderful stay, even accommodating our son and his partner for breakfast when their accommodation in a different property wasn't up to par!!

There is nothing not to like.
John and Nick really make you feel very welcome... it's like a home away from home . Their attention to detail and nice touches is what makes Westfield House so appealing... Well, that and the hearty brekkie. So, until next time, and there definitely will be a next time...

John and Nick are brilliant hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The whole place was spotless. The food was excellent. Beds were comfy. Showers were hot. Already booked again to go back and can't wait.

Amazing little guest house. Host where brilliant and very attentive, very clean and comfortable room not very big but big enough for what you will need. Im a big boy and the small bathroom was easy to go around in. Definitely recommend and will come back there. Breakfast was brilliant and very tasty. P.s. very nice little touches they do make us feel very well looked after.

This review is on behalf of my parents that the room was booked for. John and Nick were the perfect hosts. Very approachable and nothing was to much of a ask for them. Liked that I could pre order the night before for my breakfast. Fantastic service at breakfast extra tea and toast not a problem at all. Thank you for a lovely stay even if we did complain about the British weather, you made us feel warm and welcomed.

John and Nick are such a lovely couple and exceptional hosts. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Nick has truly mastered the art of poaching an egg - the local sourced sausages were a great treat as well. John was a fantastic host, attentive but not in anyway overbearing, really made you feel welcome. Room was perfect, nice touch with the additional blankets (not that they were needed). I did leave wanting to dance the Charleston :) those that stay will understand. Thanks for a lovely weekend Gents. Will be back next year.

For the price that was paid nothing , it was better than we expected

Home from home. Breakfast was amazing. Very good value for money. Cooked to perfection. There was nothing in my opinion to fault the venue, staff, facilities etc. John and Nick were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Parking is a nightmare.
lovely friendly hosts. Very clean on suite was clean and well presented. Breakfast was very nice. Really good sausages and perfectly poached eggs. We also loved the 1930s atmosphere.
