Unfortunately, the shower wasn't working quite right, and it took some patience to use. This didn't take anything away from our stay, and will without a doubt be fixed before the next stay.

Michael and his family made us very comfortable, and there was great attention to detail in what were already an excellent room and facility.

The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious, warm and clean. The bed was comfortable; and though our room faced the main road we slept well as the traffic seemed very light overnight. Breakfast was enjoyable and included a choice of hot dishes selected the night before. There was no on site parking but there was ample free parking in an adjacent street. We stayed one night on the way to the Orkney ferry and would stay here again.

We stayed in Westlea the night before taking an early ferry to Orkney. The hosts were very helpful with ferry scheduling advice and property is just a 10 minute drive to Scrabster ferry terminus. Great breakfast served early.

The hosts attention to detail with the interior decor across the whole B&B, the personal touch of Michael greeting us on arrival, his advice with local restaurants and places to visit and even though we were visiting out of the main season we had a full well stocked choice of breakfast items. Over all a great experience.

The furnishings were one of a kind, gorgeous, and restored with care by the owner. One minute walk to the beach which was spectacular. Breakfast was delicious and a hearty way to start the day. Michael and Karen were the kindest, funniest hosts we ever had. Can’t wait to come back again.

The house as a whole was spotless and well appointed. Our room was very comfortable, with a lovely view of the water. While every aspect of the stay was wonderful, best of all were the hosts who were just spectacular. They were welcoming and so lovely to talk to—they offered first rate tips and kept our spirits high in spite of some troublesome travel mishaps. Thurso was our first stop in Scotland, and Westlea set the bar high for every other stay to follow. Thank you, Michael & Corinne!
