Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Convenient for backpackers. The bus stops in front and there is a mostly gravelled path into Kyme Regis..

United KingdomSo glad we found this wonderful B&B. Jenni and Ian are so relaxed and welcoming, and so accommodating. We were able to check in early and make the most of the afternoon. A superb walk (1.5 miles) along the river into Lyme goes from their front drive. Breakfast was perfect. Please don't ever retire. We will be back 🥰🥰

JapanWe arrived after a long day running the Jurassic coast. Very dirty, tired. They really looked after us, washed our sweaty clothes, helped us sort out a takeaway and all round super helpful.

United KingdomNothing... although the TV in the bedroom was a bit small but not really an issue
We were met at the door by Jenni and shown to our room. It is a lovely house and the bedroom was very comfortable and had sole use of the next-door bathroom, which had a bath and separate shower. Breakfast was cooked by Ian in the morning with the usual range of full English items, as well as a great selection of cereals, yoghurt and fruit. It was great to chat with our hosts, who provided a good deal of local info, as well as being really nice to chat... The location of the B&B is great, being in Uplyme, out of the manic traffic that can be Lyme Regis on a Bank HOliday, but the River Lim trail is literally right next to the house, so it's an easy walk (1½ mile) into and back to Lyme. This is mostly tarmac but with a bit of track over a field, but did not require walking boots. It's also relatively flat, following the river which makes it better than staying in some parts of the town, which can be very steep and hilly. There was parking right outside the house and the place is so quiet, so after our dinners in town and a nice stroll back to the B&B we slept well. A great couple of nights and highly recommended...

United KingdomOur second stay with Jenni and Ian. Excellent hosts, great breakfast. Good pub nearby serving hearty meals. Handy bus stops close by. A must do is the beautiful river walk from Uplyme into Lyme Regis. Westley B & B is an excellent place to spend a few days.

ThailandThe twin room in the back is too small for 2 adults. And the towels in this room could be better. There’s no common area for guests to relax in as downstairs areas are private. An access to the dining nook from outside during the day would have been a nice touch.
Jenni & Ian gave us a warm welcome to their house. The house is easy to find & easy to park our car. A variety of breakfast choices including Full English Breakfast - well prepared and delicious. The double room is spacious with good towels & a nice view of the blooming tree.

United KingdomWe prefer a firmer bed so it wasn’t the best nights sleep! The sash windows opened to allow the room to cool but let in some occasional traffic noise.
Great location within walking distance to Lyme Regis. The path followed a river along a beautiful valley full of spring flowers, mature trees and birdsong.

AustraliaIt’s only a minor issue. The coordinates on booking.com are off by about 100 metres. Fortunately, we rang and Ian was able to direct us to our location
Jenni and Ian are great hosts at this B&B. It is located just outside Lyme Regis and is easy to get a car park. We received a good recommendation for a hotel for dinner as well as for local sightseeing. We had a comfortable night’s sleep and a great breakfast in the morning. We could have stayed longer.
