Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWasn't long enough. Initially the sat nav took us past the entrance, which, if i'd taken 2 seconds to look, i wouldn't have missed.
Upon arrival, was met by the owner of the restaraunt. Guided me to the lodge (we were able to drive directly up to it, but weren't 100% sure initially) and was able to book us in for food (we arrived early evening on a Sunday). Got to the lodge and as well as it being spotless, there was a folder prepared for us with information about the property and local sights and amenities. Had a good chat with the owner who showed me around the other parts of the property as well as the adjoining foot/rugby golf courses. Was refreshing to not just be a lodger who was there to line the pockets. Aside from that, found the travel to other areas really easy and relatively quick. For groceries & fuel etc, a large Tesco Extra supermarket was only a 5 minute drive away, the coastal town of Porthleven was only 15 minutes away (with free parking after 4pm). Lands End and St Ives were barely 45 minutes drive away (avoiding small single track roads).

United KingdomNot enough storage for clothes in bedrooms. Shelves needed in bathroom to put toiletries on and another cupboard in kitchen to store food.

United KingdomThe restaurant on site was very over priced. We would have eaten there more if it was more reasonable. Nice enough just too expensive and not family friendly enough
It was lovely & clean. We loved the location. The park was great for the kids. We loved that the kids had a separate bedroom. And being able to park just outside the lodge was a lovely bonus too

United KingdomNot enough storage for clothes. A shelf in the bathroom for toiletries would also be useful
There was some confusion regarding the code for the key box. Booking.com sent a pin number but this wasn't the correct code. Fortunately, I was able to phone the owner and the problem was easily resolved.

United KingdomThe mattresses and bedding. The bunk beds were short, with not much height between the top and bottom bunk. Fortunately my adult daughter is 5.2. The mattresses, particularly on the bunk beds, were quite uncomfortable and the pillows very flat.
The view, ease of parking, the warmth and the kitchen and bathroom facilities. The property was clean and the hosts accommodating re arrival time. The free round of golf was a pleasure and we also enjoyed a meal in the Wheal Dream restaurant close by.

United KingdomAll good but could be improved with the addition of a gate to the rear garden for pet safety. This was a smaller lodge but nonetheless a mole size for us, a couple with our two small dogs.
Great location; beautiful views and easy access to all the popular places; lovely walks with our dogs too. Attentive service and good restaurant on site. We would certainly recommend.

United KingdomBeautiful view from the property, located close to nearby attractions such as the Seal Sanctuary, Lizard Point & Kynance Cove. Instructions for check-in were very clear and the whole process was hassle free. The lodge was very cosy and homely, with everything we needed to make our stay complete. Would definitely return for a longer stay & to enjoy the golf facilities.

United KingdomIt was a bit small for a family of 4 staying for two weeks but would have been perfect for a shorter stay.
We liked the location on the golf club with a lovely view from our logde. It was quiet and not too far from nice beaches like Praa Sands and Portleven. Thank you for providing the racks for the clothes as there is no other storage and we would have really struggled without them.

United KingdomThe only improvement I can suggest is the quality of beds. These can be better (something like Premier-inn quality, so guests can sleep better). Having said that, I will happily book again if travelling to this side of the country.
Scenic location and total privacy. The rooms were clean though slightly small, but this was not an issue as we were out the while day and came back to the room only to the night sleep. It was conveniently located to explore the far ends of Cornwall such as St Michael's mount, Lizard point, Kynance cove, Flambards theme park etc. There are large Tesco and Sainsbury just 5 mins drive away.
