Very convenient near the train stn and not far to walk to the city centre. Staff are very helpful. Their breakfast is superb. Am looking forward to stay here again, on my next visit to York.

There is nothing to dislike about this family run hotel.

To start off our day with a great breakfast after a great night's sleep in a very comfortable bed in a very clean and well-spaced room where staff were very friendly and helpful, The Wheatlands Lodge Hotel is the only Hotel my wife and I would use on our visits to York as we have done in the past and hopefully for many more visits to York and this delightful family run hotel. Many thanks to Tim and Fiona for making this such a wonderful visit to the hotel and the lovely lady who served our refreshments in the well stocked lounge in the evening after a delightful five course meal at a fair price.

The bathroom was a little tired with the shower being quite low pressure.

The hotel is very well located, 15 minutes walk from the city centre. The staff are very polite and helpful, the room was reasonably spacious and clean. The breakfast was fresh and good quality. The hotel in general is very pleasent and I would stay again if I was in the city.

Lovely family run hotel, not overpriced either. Tim, the manager, is friendly and puts in a lot of work. The breakfast was frankly the best breakfast I have had in any hotel, superb really. Room wasn't big but was clean and did the job.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble Parking was available at rear of hotel The location is ideal - hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood, while also being quite close to the train station city centre, cinema, playhouse etc Our bedroom was warm and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep Breakfast was served at our table and included good vegetarian choices and a good choice of drinks The bar was stocked with a good range of drinks and we're reasonably priced There's an attractive garden at the front where you can sit and enjoy a drink There's a relaxed, mature and friendly atmosphere at the hotel - I was staying with family but would be just as comfortable staying there on my own

Indoor decor is a little garish in places There is an extreme amount of Laurel and Hardy paraphernalia in the bar area which cheapens it My room only had a shower (some other rooms had a bath, which I would have preferred) Decor in en-suite in need of a little tlc (eg grouting around shower base needs redoing)

The only negative was a group of children guests who woke me up early both days with what sounded like a herd of horses on stairway outside my room. They were just being playful children, but it did take away from my desire to have more peace and quiet. They also played loudly in their rooms until about 10:30, but quieted down throughout night.

Beautiful lodge within walking distance of town center and also close to bus stops and train station. After spraining my ankle before arrival, Tim quickly arranged for me to have room on ground floor. I appreciated the rubber shower mat and grab bar. Room was perfect for 2 night stay. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. Staff very helpful whenever we needed anything.

Our ferry trip back home was cancelled and rebooked to the next day. After calling the lodge service desk we were able to extend our stay by a day last minute and without issues, and even got our genious discount for the extra day as well. The hosts were very friendly and the bar/sitting room was pleasant with most guests searching a social evenings-end there.

Lovely staff, very accommodating and helped me position my motorcycle safely and securely in their car park. Greeted well, offered a tea/coffee on arrival which was gratefully received. Good breakfast, spotlessly clean well equipped single room.

I booked for 2nights for my mums 80th birthday. My parents have said that the whole experience was fantastic. Everything is so spotless. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much. Booked again for June. Thankyou to Tanya for helping in the booking and recommending a florist.
