    Magnificent Hotel

The only (small) downsides were (1) we couldn't get WIFI in our room - however, we were aware this might be a problem HOWEVER, it didn't spoil our stay! (2) Our room had a stand alone bath, which was magnificent - although there was a shower attachment, it was difficult to shower without spreading water everywhere! Loved the bath though!

The Hotel is a real find. It's full of character and charm. The rooms (we had 4 booked in total for a family break) all had different features and cute names. My wife and I stayed in "Crumpet" while the remaining 3 rooms were called "Whoopie", "Muffin" and "Roly Poly". The staff were outstanding, hence the service was excellent. The location was perfect for our break, in the heart of Rye. The breakfast, included in the room rates, was quite exceptional. Whilst all the menu choices were awesome, I thoroughly recommend the 'Breakfast Plate". Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

    No complaints.

We had a lovely choice of breakfast, more interesting than standard English breakfast, served with fresh juice/smoothies. The coffee shop had a delightful choice of freshly made cakes. Service was given with pleasure on every interaction. We stayed in the attic... Whoopie room, this had excellent views over the roof tops. Would definitely go back if visiting Rye.

Honestly not much but if I had to pick something the bathroom was small but it had everything we needed and really wasn’t an issue at all!

It was nicely decorated and a lovely old building! The location was perfect right in the middle of town with easy access to so many things to do and see. Everyone working there was amazing and friendly. The breakfast was so good too! The best pancakes I have ever had!

Amazing breakfast, selection from the brunch menu every morning. Food was really delicious. Being woken up every morning to the smell of fresh bread was really special. Lovely big room and very comfy bed. Every member of staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Location is 10/10. Very clear parking instructions.

Our only point of feedback was that the mattress was a bit too firm for us, so not as comfy as we would have liked, but this didn't dampen our stay at all - a topper would fix this quite easily!

We had the most lovely stay - the staff we're so wonderful and accommodating (and everyone was so welcoming of our dog!). The included breakfast/brunch was incredible value and really adds to the experience - the food was amazing (you could tell how popular the cafe is with locals and tourists). The room was nice and spacious overall and kept very clean throughout our stay. Bathroom/shower was decent (though pressure of the shower could have been a bit better). Location was also excellent (in the most picturesque street of the town) and there are lots of great, pubs, stores and restaurants within easy walking distance around you, as well as short driving distance to beaches at Camber and attractions around Hastings. We managed to secure parking quite easily on the street outside for a few of the evenings / days when timing wasn't restricted which was helpful. We would definitely visit again and highly recommend if you're planning a trip to the area!

One issues we had is that internet wasn’t working and we didn’t have much hot water on the top floor.

Lovely location and fantastic staff at the Whitehouse and the breakfast was exceptional! The rooms were beautifully designed and there was ample supplies of tea, coffee and water in the room. Lovely Rituals amenities.

Bed and pillows were quite firm for me, but I guess it depends on taste.

We had a lovely stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. The room was big, very clean and well warmed up for the cold months. Breakfast was also very tasty, filling and the cafe looked like a popular one.

all fabulous, looking forward to our next visit

The room was so spacious and welcoming. The bathtub was the perfect remedy to a day of coastal walking. Rye is such a beautiful gem, lots of lovely bars and pubs - very much recommended. The breakfast was exceptional and the staff welcoming and kind (they accomodated our timings with no problems).

I think the room could have done with a little more love. The blinds, decor, carpets and furniture were a little tired. Just missing the boutique feel.

The room was great but it did need a bit of dusting in the radiators and the fan in the bathroom. Very creaky floors from room above on second night , but it is an old building. Whilst at the accommodation I read that they allowed dogs to stay….,that’s a no for me!

It was a great location and a fabulous building. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

There wasn't much to not like. However, people with any mobility problems should consider avoiding rooms at the top of the building as the stairs from the first floor up can be a little difficult to climb. This should not put people off though as staff are always more than willing to help carry luggage to and from room for you. Also, car parking can be a challenge. We parked in the station car park which was a short up hill walk to the High Street. This was reasonably priced. There are other car parks within walking distance of the Whitehouse.

The Whitehouse Rye is in an excellent location in the centre of Rye and within walking distance of most eateries and sites. The breakfasts were the most interesting and tasty we have had anywhere else in the UK and very similar to the meals we have enjoyed in Australia. Our room at the top of the building was large, comfortable and well appointed. However, if you are a shower lover, this room only had a roll topped bath with and hand shower attachment. Other rooms had showers. The staff were exceptional friendly, helpful and welcoming.
