The restaurant was shut on the evening I was there, which wasn't clear when I booked my stay.

Thought the reception, bar and restaurant areas could do with a make-over. All a little tired and could have a fresher scent.Having said this the breakfast was very good and very well cooked. The staff were very pleasant.

It was an extremely hot day and we couldn't open the window (I think it was broken) and the room was unbearably hot. We did find a fan but didn't make much difference. The rest of the hotel/pub was much cooler.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was lovely and the rooms were clean. Great location as we were going to a birthday party at Welwyn Sports and Social club which is just up the road. Nice walks from there too.

We spent a week at the White Hart Hotel owned by Tom & James Bainbridge. As should be expected, a 17th-century coaching inn has all the charm and character of a period property. So it is not modern, but it is fully functional and beautiful. All the staff were excellent, welcoming, attentive and genuine. It's great to speak with staff who are passionate about their work. From making cocktails to the fantastic food in the restaurant, the housekeeping was perfect, which made our stay a pleasure. The location is perfect for a small quiet break as Welwyn is a walk or bus ride to Welwyn Garden City, or Welwyn itself has plenty of shops, bakeries, cafes, pubs and walks for a few days.

Unfortunately the room had not been cleaned for our arrival. This was obviously a mistake on the hotel’s part, but they quickly corrected the situation and were very apologetic for the error. This is the only reason that it did not score 10.

The carpet looked grubby and needs cleaning or replacing.

Lovely converted stable block. First impression, carpet is grubby and needs replacing. Bathroom also needs updating and mould around shower sealant. Bathroom supplied toiletries poor quality and don't lather. Hairdryer worked intermittently Comfortable bed and quiet location so slept really well. Breakfast was outstanding and excellent value for money. Beautifully cooked and presented.Staff were friendly and welcoming. Parking was free and space available.

Our room (number 2) didn’t have a window, just a skylight directly over the bed. On summer mornings when the sun rises early, this makes sleeping difficult for those who prefer a dark room. Suggest taking an eye mask!
