Being picky, on first arrival there was a DJ playing music quite loud which we thought would go on all night, however it did finish at 23.00hrs. Noise from bar below coming up through floor of room. Reception wasn't obvious upon arrival. Free parking is very very limited. But after initial thoughts,it was all generally OK and we would def stay again.

Food was fantastic with a good selection and very reasonably priced. The staff (especially the dining waitresses) were very friendly and attentive. Location was perfect for what we needed. Would definitely use her again.

Breakfast is not in dining room but is available to order and paid extra and be left outside for the morning. Fine if you need it. Bedroom.lovely to eat breakfast. There is Coop shop opposite if you want to buy items and cafe within 100m too.

The car park was a little awkward due to the fact there were no clear spaces marked out, so people were parked at different angles. But there other parking available.

The downstairs pub and restaurant were very nice with friendly staff and easy check in

Beautiful old mansion house. The bedrooms are very large and beautifully decorated with lovely antique Georgian furniture. Comfy bed.

I struggled with the WiFi connection and as I don’t have a UK mobile I’m limited to a small amount of roaming data. It got a bit tedious having to wander around to pick up the signal every time I wanted to use my phone. But it is an old building with very thick walls so not surprising. Once you go through the door at the top of the stairs to get to the rooms there’s another few steps to go up but the proximity light doesn’t come on until you get to the top of those so take care. The continental breakfast I ordered didn’t turn up on the first day but the staff were very apologetic and quickly refunded my money.

My room and all public areas were spotlessly clean. Great location for exploring Derbyshire and the Peak District. Despite being by the side of a main road, my room was very quiet. I highly recommend the food. Great quality, great choice and really good service. You get a key to the front door so you can come and go as you please with ease. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I felt that they really wanted their guests in bar, restaurant and hotel to have a good experience. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Only thing for me , bed creaked and the mattress was a little hard and uncomfortable. Struggled to sleep a bit.

Ideal base for getting around, people lovely and good spacious room large bathroom. Breakfast continental had to be ordered before 7 pm previous night and left outside your door . Clean , older place with a lot of character.

I found the mattress a little firm however that I’d personal choice.

The property is beautiful, room was a great size and the bed was stunning. I have allergy’s and also vegan , they were so attentive and we had s glorious meal.
