Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe menu in the bar was limited. I had the battered fish which was delicious. However my wife asked for the chilli sauce for her sea bass to be served separately as she does not like food too spicy. The waitress wrote down the details, however the fish was served with the dressing applied. This lack of care to detail was a bit annoying. The same happened with my wife’s breakfast. She ordered scrambled egg on toast. It came very late with smoked salmon. She does not like smoked salmon. We did not complain as there would never been no benefit.
The location was good if you want to get away from it all. There was a wedding on whilst we were there but that did not retract from the enjoyment of our visit. The accommodation was very good value for money.

United KingdomThe only small issue was it needs a mirror you can move around, as the room and bathroom were so dark it was hard to put on make-up. Very small issue in a wonderful stay.
Fab staff. Lovely room. Robes, nice tea tray and gorgeous toiletries. Great food in the bar/restaurant. Brilliant service and excellent breakfast. Wonderful outside spaces.

United KingdomRoom was red hot, not much ventilation as windows didn't open too well. A fan was provided but I think a bigger one may have been better.
Lovely looking hotel, very french. Nice decor and spacious room. Food and drinks were great, served by friendly staff and fairly priced. Comfy bed, plenty of tea, coffee, etc. Breakfast was cooked to order and very nice plus continental style buffet on the side.

United KingdomThe restaurant was fairly expensive and the quality didn’t quite reflect this. The choice for vegetarians was quite limited. There were a few small errors with food orders made.
The room was beautiful and spacious, exactly as seen in pictures. The gardens were very attractive. The staff were helpful and friendly.

United KingdomBed room bed head rips in the head border. Bedroom was red hot just a little fan and bathroom window would stay open. Breakfast was nice but nothing special Dinner on a night fish and chips where swimming in oil, then the spice beef pie with chips...... beef was mince not beef bland as hell no spice. I request fries instead of chips and then fries came out raw what just shows lack of care In my eyes. I asked for some ice for my room and was told ice machine was broken but then got ice in my drink about 30 mins later what is s jokeing my eyes. I booked a stay hear as got told amazing food but would rate it at all.
Garden and surrounding area was lovely

United KingdomI think the price we paid was a lot for the room we got and the room was a little scruffy in parts with broken hooks in doors, room 22. The lights don’t get very bright either so I had to take a mirror off the wall to put at the window in order to see myself doing my make up for a wedding. Walls thin, you hear everything in the hallways.
The quaintness and style of the place and the staff were just brilliant!

United KingdomThe only thing was a bit unhappy about was what I felt was a rather excessive £30 extra cleaning charge for having a dog in the room (largest fee we paid yet for a night). It would have been better if this had been intimated before completing the booking. We usually bring our dog crate in for our collie and she sleeps there - maybe other dogs have less been well behaved
Friendly, very helpful staff and a hidden gem of an hotel. Quirky decor and an amazing outdoor space hidden round the back. Bathrobes and artisan ground coffee in the room was a nice touch. The food was great as was the service. We had a fantastic evening meal and the breakfast was superb with plenty of choice on both menus. Bar and restaurant are dog friendly, but you are not allowed to leave a dog unattended in your room anyway.

United KingdomThe only thing we felt it lacked was somewhere to hang a towel/pyjamas in the en-suite and perhaps a shelf to set our washbags on. The single glazed window meant a fair amount of road noise through the night, which we are not used to so slightly spoiled the stay.
We stayed for one night as travelling around the area. Great breakfast. The bedroom was very nice, nice en-suite, great shower.

United KingdomOn our first night, our room comprised two single beds pushed together, this was uncomfortable. There was also noise from the road and the wedding that was going on. we were warned about the function taking place by the venue itself after we’d booked but not by booking.com
The property is set up as a wedding venue. The wedding area and the gardens are very beautiful, exotic and charming. The staff were exceptional. Helpful, well mannered, efficient, they could not do enough to accommodate us. Very impressed by them. They also had conditioner in the showers.
